Neat Feat Skating Center 890 N Broad Street Ext, Grove City, PA. Likely that is Neighbor Don Burkett who helped by mowing the lawn for years when this Google Mapper took this picture in 2009. He is seen on the left side of the photo. One thing to let you know that the wall was already listing as in 2009. Look above the guy with the lawn mower. See it was already listed? It was long waiting to collapse. Source: Google, Allied News - 16 March 2013.

Neat Feat Skating Center 890 N Broad Street Ext, Grove City, PA
Neat Feat Skating Center 890 N Broad Street Ext, Grove City, Pennsylvania. This roller rink has long since closed around 2007 a few years before the roof collapsed. Having seen photos before the roof collapsed, the building appeared old. Looks to be built around 1940s, 1950s. But I do not have information. Just that it has collapsed and out of business. There are several listing in directories including for rinks that this rink is listed but nothing is listed as active. Yelp says nothing either. But it does not mean they are open.
The roof collapsed on Sunday night, 13 February 2011 due to snow accumulation on the metal roof.
Allied News on 05 April 2013 proved that they were demolishing the collapsed rink.
Thomas and his wife, Cherie Rosak operated the rink. Before that, the owners of the rink was the same owners of Bil-a-Lou skating rink in the same town. The Rosaks purchased Neat Feat Skating Center in 1989 (deeds said 1993). but they closed in 2007. It sat abandoned until 2011 when the roof collapsed. The reason it did was because there were no heat turned on at all and the heavy Pennsylvanian snow, lake effects if any, and Nor'easters and blizzards as well as snow storms dumped wet heavy snow on the metal roof and trusses which the weight pressured the cold metal to collapse. No heat on for 4 years can cause it to pressure the roof down greater than with heat. Heat melts snow and ice. Unfortunately the couple did not operate the rink when this happened.
Cheryl Rosak's death in 2011 coincidence with the roof collapsed the same year. Has to be hard for Thomas with double sad news.
I have no opening dates of this rink though. Again, I believe it was opened in 1940s, 1950s.
Owner Thomas Rosak is in a nursing home at the time of the roof collapsed in Pittsburgh and had no money to handle the problem with the roof or even to leave heat on. The Rosaks reportedly moved to Pittsburgh to be close to family when the aging Mrs. Rosak became ill, and later died in 2011 at the age of 74. Perhaps immediately after the purchase. This rink was one of the saddest story to hear because of their own personal situation and problems. They should have sold it immediately but apparently in 1989.. roller skating was somewhat popular because of the In-Line Skates popularity at the time. And the timing with his wife's health affected his focus on operating the rink therefore, it may have been the start of abandoning it.
At the time of writing on 27 September 2022, Thomas Rosak is still alive and is at age of 90 years.
This is one of the three roller rinks in Pennsylvania that sits cross the street from a cemetery!
The Interior.
Maple floor. Interior had walls in my favorite caped superhero colors. Captain Marvel's (DC) colors of Shazam! Red and Shazam! Yellow. Indeed the colors were on all 4 walls. I do not see any "before-the- collapse" photos of interior but this exterior photo shown above showed it all. Take that, Captain Timed (Timed / "Marvel" Comics)!
The Exterior.
There were two parts. The Segmental Arch (Steel Bow Arch) and the other part was Gabled. That part was where the owners/operators lived and the rest was the skating rink under the arch. This rink was very basic looking with the road side view of American Red paint on Cinderblocks.

Thank you for understanding.
Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. I provide what information from other websites, skaters, and operators and it may end up with different results between two (or more) sources. It is not our responsible for errors we caused. All sources are shown on each page. All opinions and statements of mine are also stated and are for purely educational entertainment only.
Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
