Rinks in the us

Picture
Homesteader Museum in Wyoming.  This was a rink at one time.  Yes, in this log cabin style.

See here:  Homesteader Roller Rink.  Photo courtesy of Homesteader Museum.
This page deals with rinks in the United States.  Always everlasting adding new rinks.

KEYS:
Please noticed the colors of fonts in the lists and know what they means.  Focus on the name of the rink in what color they are.

Red fonts means no information available.

Black Fonts are newly listed but not made profile(s) of rinks yet.  When they do, It is Red or Blue fonts.

Blue clickable fonts means you can click them!

Purple fonts means they are still operational AND up for sale.  So, in case they do get sold, they are added into blue lined.  It is a "WATCH list"  PLEASE do support those rinks while they are still in business and/or consider buying them and keep it operational.

Fire Red Fonts means about to close within days or months for good or something alerted.  It will be changed to Blue underlined fonts.  Also means very recent event occurrence.

Orange-Yellow Fonts means it is a mystery.  Has no website but on Facebook it says it is still in operational or the date still running but not open.  Or has no website and no Facebook but says still in operational such as in Yelp or even on Yelp has no photos, no comments but named the rink.   This is different than the Purple and Gold groups.  This is the one really needs your help to let me know if they are STILL in business or not.

Violet Fonts are the rinks that are gone but the business name or entertainment center are still operational.  They only eliminated the rink(s) for some reasons we do not know why.  Sometimes just drop roller rink and replaced with something else now.

Green Fonts means they are back.  Returned as a rink or rebooted from closure.  Go support them!  Good to see them back!

An Asterisk (*) after the rink's name means the owner or company with a criminal activity or activities which caused their reputation damages on those rinks.  Like a certain baseball player who broke Hank Aaron's homeruns because of his intake with steroids, the fan who caught it stamped the ball with an asterisk.  The same with those rinks received their asterisks.  No offense.

If you do not see the rink you skated at or owned a rink or even managed or worked there, please by all means send me an email to [email protected] and I will add your rink.  You need to look at those rink profiles and get an idea of what I need.  I need photos of both exterior and interior, preferred without people so I can tell what kind of floor is it for records, that is fine but has to be well lit though.  Second, know what kind of rink floor such as Maple, cement, etc), coated if you know?  size of rink both in feet and square feet, building size, and when built.  When the rink first opened and closed.  Who owned it and series of owners prior.  Also reason why rink closed.  And where are your sources from such as links to.  Articles, etc.  Can be scanned and send it to me if possible.  Thank you!  You will be credited.  There are perhaps at least 10 thousand rinks closed. Maybe more because of the list growing!

Give it time for the list to grow.  Already 4298 rinks listed in the US and other countries as of 12 August 2022.    Enjoy seeing your favorite rinks! This includes those in red because I searched for and there were no information.  You can make a difference!  Add those rinks you been to that I could not find info!  (537 rinks internationally and 1 strange rink which brings total to 4298 rinks overall).  Averaging adding a rink is 3.17 rinks a day.

If you see a rink that is missing, please by all means email me the information regarding those rinks along with photos, information such as open, closed, sizes, why closed, what replaced it or demolished, rink floor, and any other information.  Please email them to me at [email protected].  Thank you!

Note, newly added are the counts of rinks per state AND region.  The each state has totals overall.  It will change when adding more rinks you provided to me.

WANTED!  Volunteers to make profiles for Dead-Rinks!  Yes, that's correct!  You can volunteer and make profiles of all the Dead-Rinks that are on the list and I will post what you find by copy and paste.  To learn about it, there are thousands of profiles you can see the pattern how I find them.  And how I write about them.  It is easy to do.  More details when you want to sign up by emailing me at [email protected]!

Note, please do click the name of the state you want to see, the number you see next to it is the number of names of all the dead rinks.  One thing though, the numbers here and the personal state pages are not always accurate due to miscount.  They will always be added often and often did not count. Or over count. We regret for any errors we caused.  Thank you for understanding.  The count here would be different than the actual count on the page of rinks you seek in.
