The upper part is a stripe like that was a lighter hue than the rest. Same composition of HSL but lighter. This is why it does feel like it is an ocean feel or even South Florida. Yes, there are even Palm trees to make this feel Floridian in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. Source: Music In Motion Family Fun Skating Center.

1341 College Park Rd, Summerville, SC
Music in Motion Family Fun Center was a rink on 1341 College Park Road, Summerville, South Carolina but closed on 23 of August 2022.
It first began
Kenneth Bailey or known as Mr. Ken to skating patrons at the rink. He bought out the rink on or around 27 May 2013. Hence why the updating of painting exterior in 2014 and then interior in 2017. Only to close for good on Tuesday, 23 August 2022 due to lack of employees. Labor shortages that is happening everywhere. This is why companies have to shut down plants or business for good due to lack of people wanting to work. This is a first I ever heard for roller skating in my nearly 4 years of making profiles. I can see Ken's statement saying he had to cancel several sessions due to lack of anyone coming to work. That is because of either people are sick, or because I saw how his employment pool is-- all teenagers. Now that is making sense.
To correct this, he needs to broaden ages to hire adults with child care and entertainment experiences to work at this rink. I wish my father would buy me this rink and I would improve it overnight plus repairs that I saw in photos that are absolutely disgusted.
I have to be frank here and this is my opinion as this is my disclaimer. Broken bathroom door? Broken water fountain, kicked in water drain pipe outside, come on! Where were security on this? I saw security with uniformed police officers moonlighting at the rink. Problem is that it is uniformed. Maybe a few plain clothes officers can spend time at the rink fooling people till necessary. Not bouncers. Undercover! That do that often at stores anywhere. I used to work in retail, I can see those people are undercover. I know them but they are not supposed to be acknowledged for any retail and management staff until they arrest shoplifters or armed robbers.
With damages there and the lack of staff, it makes them work harder to keep the place up. Without people working, the more mess and damages it will be done.
Teenagers, grow up! And what I read in Yelp, Four Square, and Trip Advisor. I would recommend what I said: Older staff, more staff, and hire maintenance workers including janitorial staff.
Now, back to the Dead-Rinks about this rink. This rink many may thought was opened during 20th Century. Wrong. It opened in 2001. Manta confirmed this.
The previous operator may have been Harold Dukes. Then in May 2013, Kenneth Bailey took over.
A major fight was at the rink on 28 of December 2019 when they were having an all nighter and the management and staff could not handle this early in the evening when there were situations and they had to call the police and the police came and had to handle the problem and then the management had to cancel the all-night skate early and parents were called back to pick up children. This was during Christmas break.
The Interior.
Hard to describe because the place was.. well, very colorful! The rink floor appeared to be Concrete.
2001 to October 2017 - This interior was very colorful with bright walls including bold colors such as Lime Green, Deep Blue, Fire Engine Red, etc. But the rink floor was anti-color. It was Pitch Black with White center of the rink! This is quite unexpected to have a rink with this color. Too rarely it was that color. Most of the time, it would be Navy Ship Gray or Sky Blue. This makes one of the rarest. This thing though is quite helpful to overcome the negative aspect from patrons on many commentary websites including Yelp, Four Square and Trip Advisor. A couple of commentors love the rink floor which helped brings up the scores. Not only that, they had black ceiling. Only over the rink, but not off the rink. They did not have carpeting at all. Instead, like on the rink, off rink was the same.. all Concrete and different shapes such as Triangles and Squares. All Geometric shapes were found common on the floors off the rink.
The half-walls each had its own color and dividable for "musical corners" akin to musical chairs that when they dice roll and the the number is called out to oust that group of skaters who stopped at those numbers. I love the colors which were pretty much the same as it was on the walls and exteriors. See photos to get color descriptions. I love the walls and half-walls because it was very colorful. Very updated. However...
2017 to closure in August 2028 - The rink floor was redone in 2017 to modernize. It was sanded, polished leaving that Black and White paint on. Clearly it was Concrete because with Wood, you are literally sanding to the bare.
They painted the floor in same colors. All Black then they added the center with Checkers kind of like the recent closed Atlantis Skateaway and the similar floor found at Starburst in the Gulf side of Florida. One thing though, the arrows on the rink floor was quite the same as two other rinks that closed as well. One was in Utah and the other in Georgia.
Now, you are here, however (from the pre 2017), they painted two colors which were quite heavy. Purple and Sunrise Orange. Too heavy! They already have black rink and ceiling.. Needs some more brightness to balance.
See photos above for more details!
The Exterior.
Pre-2014 Look: The original had very sea look. Of course, this rink was like 30 minutes drive from the ocean! It had Sea-foam or Moderate Sea Blue.
After 2014 Look: They painted the exterior walls especially the front/road facing side to include, from bottom to top-- Denim Blue, Light Lime Green, Marigold Yellow Stripes, Light Lime Green again as thick stripes, then Sunrise Orange. Then Off-White.

Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
