Top 3 courtesy of Google Map. First two taken in 2016 as the third in 2019.
Top three courtesy of several fans and Roller Time. On left Bad location for trash basket! Skaters could skate through it. It is almost camouflage. Photo on right. You see the old carpet, right? Very faded. Compare that to the left.
Courtesy of fans at Roller Time (Google images). Noticed the difference with the old faded carpet on the right above this photo? Big difference! Wear and tear!
Bottom 3, courtesy of fans on Google Image. Beautiful Log Cabin layout rink. You noticed on edge of the rink is a caution on the floor. That is because the floor is lower than the carpeted floor area. Many rinks have this format (of lately, many in the South has that format but in Upstate NY where I skated, no. Rinks in upstate NY usually level out with the carpet.
Why have it sunk in the floor? In my opinion, that is dangerous for new skaters and skaters not aware. This is dangerous that you could trip. While I support this neat rink, I do not recommend new skate operators to follow this format. Best is to be flat. Completely flat.

Originally it was Carousel Skate Center then Skate Time for a brief time then finally, Roller Time. When they closed the other Huntsville's Carousel Skate Center, they consolidated both rinks into the Arcadia Circle location but that one was already called, Roller Time. Roller Time is currently operating.
Originally it was opened in the same year as the other Carousel that was closed in 2018, Apparently they opened those two rinks at the same time. I do not have any confirmation date but only the year for this one so likely it was on or around the exact date as the other Carousel Skate Center - August 1, 1973.
The inside out is quite the same. It was a cookie cutter with a slight differences. You will notice the ceiling is different between this one and the other Carousel Skate Center. The Arcadia location has catherial ceiling as the other was flat with a slight slant down which was a bit awkward at that location. The interior colors, and so forth are quite similar.
Larry Barkley founded Carousel Skate Center in 1973.
The Interior.
They had popular Starburst lights but the difference they did was to add the downward to an angle. It was to make it more of a spider. They had two spiders-like Starburst lights and the diamond ball.
The rink is still clear coated Polyurethane Maple floor and likely it is exact same size as the other Carousel rink- 14,00 SF with the 24,000 SF building.
This one really showed the old carpet and the new carpet in photographs. Good thing I found one that was still in pretty new condition of starburst and swirl theme carpet (see above) and compare to that to another photo showing how faded it was. It really showed how it aged because of skaters, spilling drinks, and shampooing can damage the black light colors on the carpet. Well, they have a new one now which I really like. This is a major improvement this management had custom design done. It showed the waves of sprint colors. In my year and half doing daily research of dead rinks, I never seen this type of carpet. It appeared to be seamless. Not like that of Dazzles in Georgia that had horrible spaced carpets that you can see the cut off on the carpet. Hard to explain but please see that in the link in Dazzles. Sorry but it was the worst layout ever. But this one is one of coolest I ever seen. If skaters were to find this page, I recommend them to go see this rink. I love the colors on the walls. The same I explained for the other Carousel that was closed. This rink is pretty much exact copy and from my observation in how the interior and exterior design... recall that I am not just recording history, I am also giving commentaries for rinks. I recommend you attend this Roller Time. It is a good looking interior. You will feel comfort. No question about that.
Just that the wall carpet they still have is Rustic Red Brown color. It may be a slight conflict with how painted colors are and the carpet with the black-light colors are. The carpet felt bit aged though. It does needs a replacement. That same carpet that they had on the floor would be excellent for the walls. That blue I like a lot? Same with this one at one end. With the neon Green strip around it between the Rust color carpet and the colors on walls.
This rink had a real close call. It was in 2010 that the tornado was going to touch down right on the roller rink according to a cell phone user's video on Facebook. But it was stalled half way and I am sure the tornado disappeared. Something like that. See here. Praise the LORD that this rink was saved. It is still operational today...
Speaking of it, when you are in the area, I recommend you attend the rink at Roller Time (click it to see their schedule on their website!)
The Exterior.
On the other hand, the exterior is also exact carbon copy of the recently closed Carousel Skate Center. This, no question about it has that early 1970s feel. It was since they were built in 1973 and opened that year. The admission section of the building is the out-built section with large plane windows, a rarely you find in 1970s and newer rinks would have. It is sporting more lively colors on this one than the other location. It is sporting my hometown university team colors of Orange and Blue. I let you figure out what university I am talking about.
