Middletown Skateway 2514 North Verity Pkwy, Middletown, OH
Triangle Skating Rink was there first with this name as a rink on 2514 North Verity Pkwy in Middletown, Ohio before it became Middletown Skateway which the Late Max Rogers began. Only that the Middletown Skateway is still operational. Please check it out! Max Rogers passed away in November 25, 2018. He was 86 years old. The name change for some reasons I do not know but it was very similar to another rink that Max did not own, the Tri-Skateland 1260 Hicks Blvd, Fairfield, Ohio which was under a different ownership. (That profile will be added soon).
Max began Triangle Skating Rink in 1988 according to Dun and Bradstreet. The transitional of name changes and or part ownership/partnership changed along the way and it became Middletown Skateway.
Note, this is about the former name and I feel we should include this because of Max Rogers' passing and was one of largest rink owners having owned 7 rinks. Those seven are including Triangle Skating Rink/Middletown Skateway, Rollerworld, Super Skate in Xenia, Skateway Trenton, Piqua 36, Skateland downtown Daytona, and he designed and built Skateworld of Kettering. I will be going through those rinks to see if they are operational. Please provide me information about them especially Piqua because the name of the rink there today is 36 Skate Club. Could be bit confusion to me and to others.
The Interior.
It has Maple wood floor. I could not tell but it appeared to be Rotunda but I am not sure.
The Exterior.
I do not know what the original appearance was like but I can tell you from the 2000s and 2010s. It is a Free-Span Steel Trusses Cinderblocks - Walled Storefront/warehouse - like Building with Flat roof. They had a row of Roman trees in the road-side but they cut down in around 2008 or 2009. Then they renovated again on the outside with new paint and new stripes during 2010s. I love the current appearance now that it has that neat appearance and modern to this very old building. It is like a retro of MC (Mid-Century).
