Transgression Park and Boardwalk Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre, 98/S2 Ocean Drive, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.
Transgression Park and Boardwalk Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre, 98/S2 Ocean Drive, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK has announced they are closing in summer 2023. Not determinate when but they will close. They announced it on 2 June 2023. They have been located at the shopping mall, Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre. They are actually moving out so they are not completely ended the business. Just the location. They said it is not the end but an end.
This is a "To-Be-Continued" moment for them.
According to comments, they are actually closing on 30 of July 2023. The mall, Ocean Terminal has lost a lot of tenants. 18 stores have closed so this showed that they are dying. The mall that is. This is like with Black Mamba was in ShoppingTown Mall til the very end of that mall and the then-owner of ShoppingTown Mall forced everyone out of the mall including Black Mamba rink and skate park to move out. This is quite similar. Sounded like Ocean Terminal is meeting the same fate.
I pray that Transgression Park and Boardwalk can find a new home fast. In UK, another rink met similar fate because of the lease situation. The Roller World that was just closed last November 2022. But the business is still active though.
They first opened in 2017. BUT the photos seen on Facebook goes far back as 2015 (I did not go further back more). That was just for the skating park. Nothing mentioned about the roller rink. I believe it was 2017 after all for the rink-- the Boardwalk part of the business.
We shall pray and see if this will happen.
The Interior.
Since it is two section business- Skate Park and Boardwalk Roller Rink, this is broken down on here--
Pre- 2017 Transgression Park: This version has Deep Red and Wood appearance that gets more bold for the Skate Park. It is more aggressive appearance and their facility was very modern as I can see the ceiling and the walls. Very modern. Apparently the relocated to the mall. I think in my humble opinion, that was a better spot but for some reason they moved to the mall I do not know why. The mall location was not an excellent spot. The evident they have stayed for six years was not good. If it was longer, then fine but having at the mall, it shorten life.
Post- 2017 Transgression Park: They have Blue and White themed colors in the skate park. It appears slightly smaller than the Pre-2017 version.
The Boardwalk (since 2017): It is a small roller rink with posts on the floor since this is a shopping mall. It has Triangles pointing up and down with Red pointing down. If any skate parks that owns a roller rink, typically roller rink floors are small. I will get the size soon after I hear back from them.
The Exterior.
Pre- 2017 Transgression Park:Unknown.
Post- 2017 Transgression Park and Boardwalk: It was on ground floor in a multi-story shopping mall. The mall is right by the water and it is a modern European appearance for a mall. Alot of materials on the walls there including windows, sheet metals, etc.

We do not endorse such illegal activities including breaking and entry of former rinks, malls, abandoned buildings, etc. Please always obey laws and regulations and property owner's signs. Some states allow purple paint on fence which means they even have guns on their property and have rights to shoot you. Please DO NOT attempt to enter property without permission!
For abandoned rinks, after you receive permission, do WEAR safety OSHA equipment including a safety glasses, pair of safety gloves, an orange vest or a jacket, and a construction helmet.
Thank you for understanding.
Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. I provide what information from other websites, skaters, and operators and it may end up with different results between two (or more) sources. It is not our responsible for errors we caused. All sources are shown on each page. All opinions and statements of mine are also stated and are for purely educational entertainment only.
Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
