State 8 Rollerdrome 4130 State Rd, Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Beautiful building of the former rink in its glory days. Appeared to be taken in 1990s thanks to the car that is parked in front of the rink. That automobile has to be 1990s because of the Bubble trendy look for automobiles of its time. Source: Loop Net.

State 8 Rollerdrome 4130 State Rd, Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Now a costume store. What an irony. The sign must have had damaged caused by a vehicle. It still stands crooked which make it perfect for this spooky and tricks retail store. Taken in 2019. Source: Google.
State 8 Rollerdrome 4130 State Rd, Cuyahoga Falls, OH
State 8 Rollerdrome was a roller rink located at 4130 State Rd, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. That is the name I got off of the building where this rink used to be thanks to Loop Net.
The building was built in 1959 and I believe that was when the roller rink, State 8 Rollerdrome opened its doors that year. However, they folded likely in 2003 according to Loop Net. It says it was October 24, 2003. It was operational for 44 years.
Manta, on the hand said it was opened in 1972. Really? Not 1959? The appearance of the building looked so original so I believe the rink was opened in 1959 because of the style of the building PLUS the logo looked very 1959 rather than 1972. Yes, styles and looks change slower back the day. Dun & Bradstreet agrees with Manta that it was 1972. This is no Liars' Club here, will the proper year please stand up? (theme song playing from the Liars' Club TV show).... Um, anyone know the truth here what year and day and month it began?
They closed for good and now it is a costume and magic tricks supplier store where they moved in because the store grew and they needed a bigger place.

The Exterior.
Very neat design for its time. The building was built in 1959 with Red Bricks and 1950s style Colonial Wallstone Stone Wall. It was interesting mix of those two. Normally not because they are not a match. But that was way before the Memphis Group of 1983 graphic design that have all kinds of mix of shapes and lines and so forth. That is what 1950s had. A Conservative Pre-Memphis Group style. Yes, the frontage look very Colonial with the appearance.
The front door was not clear in the photo. Looked boarded up but I am not sure. The costume store renovated by adding new front door in that left corner to gain a new foyer to walk in. A double entry. Sadly the front was cut with 3 new plane windows for window display as you can see with costumes on the mannequins. Upon closer inspection, they do not look costume! Look like regular clothes. I think that is because of those photos taken, it was summer time and who wants to purchase Halloween costume in the middle of July?
This is the problem common for Halloween themed stores around the nation as it is so focused on that specific day. Meaning the window to shop for costume is merely two months-- Entire months of September and October.
Now, back to the store appearance, this is why you see they attempt to focus on other attire for rest of the year. Like in November and December, Thanksgiving and Christmas respectively.
