Skate City Shawnee 9800 West 62nd Terrace, Merriam, KS. What a beauty interior! Floor looks like an ice rink. Yeah, sure does! Another thought ran in my mind, is that the world's largest surgery room? Sorry for the joke. Its a compliment! Source: Skate City Shawnee.

Skate World was original name at 9800 West 62nd Terrance, Merriam, Kansas. Skate World was sold to the owners of Skate City Shawnee in July 2012. Skate City Shawnee is still operational.
UPDATE! -- 12 June 2022.
The original was Coach Light according to a skater who knew history of this location.
The old Skate World in Merriam Ks. [W]as originally called Coach light. I think that they switched the name in the late 80's. The Owners name was Berwin Sasck. I'm not sure about the spelling of his name. I learned how to skate at Coachlite in the early 80's. Adult night was every Wednesday evening. I have so many amazing memories of that place.
Thank you for your information. Glad to know the original name for this rink. Was it really spelled as Coachlite?
Thanks again!
It may have been part of Skateland Centers company since the structure is quite the same and even architecturally similar which I mean by the building materials. Same stone style walls. It was Veneer Stone Wall style.
Coachlite --
The Interior.
It had the hard Polyurethane floor that I recall being a [Sky] Blue color. Extremely fast and well maintained. The atmosphere was very dark. I think that the walls and floor dividers were Light Blue. The carpet was black with some kind of space logo on it. That would mean Black light carpet.
The Exterior.
I seem to recall the exterior being Grey.
I personally do not know what grey this skater mentioned. It is ok, Chris. No problem. You did good and thank for your feed back on the interior and exterior!
The Stats:
Rink Size: N/A. Floor: [Sky] Blue Polyurethane coated (Maple or Concrete, unknown).

The Exterior.
The appearance is quite similar to the the current Skate City West/Skate City Legends/Wyandotte Skateland/Skateland Centers. This must be a Skateland Centers franchise at one time.. during the first time before it became Skate World. Perhaps although I do not have any information regarding saying "Skateland Centers" at this location nor saying, "Wyandotte Skateland." But the irony is that both rinks presently are now under Skate City Company.
The appearance is that it has a Veneer Stone Wall all the way up front even that vertical part. Same with the Wyandotte Skateland/Skate City Legends. It is in Stone White color. With Sand color trim above.
The only major differences are the canopy and the front doors which are not on the side like the ones at the former Wyandotte Skateland but this one is truly front and separate as entry and exit. The layout may be slight different at the entrance. But the inside is likely the same for each rink.
The canopy in this location is bigger and confined to the extension of the building and the front size.
Both rinks are at dead ends. This one sits by the creek. You would not be able to see the rink from any main roads as it is behind a shopping plaza. Again hideous. It is in commercial district and walking would be much poorer for skaters to walk to the rink.
The Stats:
Rink Size: N/A. Floor: N/A. Floor Layout: N/A.
Skate City Shawnee --
The Interior.
Currently operating rink has one of the most beautiful design. Beautiful bright white interior! All monochromic! Looks like something out of a 1970s Monochromic Futurism. You may recalled some 1970s movies and television shows with much white interior. THX, Buck Rogers TV series, Space 1999, Future World, and even Star Wars in the beginning, and others just to name a few.
You see, In the 1970s, the 1970s Futurism was a mixed feeling at the time with this concept of having all whites as symbolic that we are generally optimism but with uncertainty. Science Fiction movies from 1980 on were darker and darker (Blade Runner, Star Wars, Star Trek, and more) which means we will have terrible future. Biblically correct as many Christians will say as terms they are talking about the Great Tribulation. But will have bright future after that. Anyway, for others, too much to explain about darkness. I love the 1970s with its brightness. Not just the Monochromic Futurism during the 1970s for me but also American Patriotic theme thanks to the Bicentennial Celebration.
The appearance is very much a retro 1970s Monochromic Futurism. Ice White floor that is so shining with Polyurethane coating, White Walls and White ceiling. You can see vertical lights on the ceiling onto the walls and of course, starburst lights on ceiling with a diamond ball. What more icing this rink needs? Beautiful appearance is enough they need. Looks very clean!
On the other hand, I do not know what the rest of the facility is like such as snack bar, eating area, games, lockers, etc.
The Exterior.
Basically the exact same as it was Skate World. No color changes. See above.
