All courtesy of Michael Owens / Odyssey Skate Center from Facebook. Very neat design of this brick building, very modern for its time in 1980. Still, its ageless. reminds me of a college in Rochester that is nicknamed Brickyards. This could have been theirs! Also reminded me of a Deaf school I went to in Central NY. Man outside with skates is the owner, Michael Owens. The same with the thank you sign.
All courtesy of skate fans on Google Images. Haha. No, the exterior is not a scene in Night Heat (A 1980s popular CBS Late Night cop show). It was Skate Odyssey/Odyssey Skate Center!

Skate Odyssey was a rink at 11319 Memorial Pkwy SW, Huntsville, AL before it became Odyssey Skate Center. Apparently the name changed and not to be confused to the Skate Odyssey rinks of Florida (link shown of Tampa location) that a family operated for many decades there. When I was doing research on Florida rinks, I kept getting the Huntsville, Alabama results on Google, or DDG or Edge or Opera search engines.
This rink building looks so much like a church. Very modern with Red Bricks bricks around the complex with Hip Roof design. The entrance is on a corner, left side. It has an canopy with much glass at the entrance. Doors and windows. Very much look like a church with out a steeple. Not all churches have that, so remember that. It has very clean design and refreshing to see that perspective for a rink. Although the style looks as if it was built in 1970s or 1980s. This reminds me of the look at a technical college in Rochester, NY.
The owner was Michael Owens for the Odyssey Skate Center.
If this building was built in 1980 and Odyssey was opened in 1990. What was it before Odyssey? Anyone?
The Interior.
It was beautifully designed from 1980s when they first opened in 1990s with of course, some revisions. It is ageless and beautifully designed. Very modern sleeking look for a rink. Pretty much inside and out are Red Bricks bricks here or there. Pictures I see I could not tell if they are bricks but I take their words for it. Rarely you see a rink with this calibrator. Only one or two other rinks in the same state even has Red bricks. But this one really modernized with refreshing look. For instance, they may have renovated in 1990s the carpet with black lights colors but it is pretty muched dated already. It has seen its time.
But the complimentary overtake that carpet is beautiful curved clear coated Maple rink floor.
The Exterior.
The building looks very 1980 and they opened in 1990. Likely it was built in 1989.
