Skate-O-Rama Eynon Shopping Center, 840 Scranton Carbondale Hwy, Archbald, PA. This appeared taken in late 1970s. I see everyone was looking at something. I wonder what. Hmm. Source: Facebook - Skate-O-Rama Memories
Skate-O-Rama Eynon Shopping Center, 840 Scranton Carbondale Hwy, Archbald, PA. Someone said this was the location where the old rink used to be. You can see clearly that the posts were quite all over in that former store. Of course, they had them on the rink floor. Hey, I skated at my first rink that happened to be Empire Skates East in DeWitt that was in Empire Plaza. Source: Facebook - Skate-O-Rama Memories.

Skate-O-Rama was once a rink in a town called Eynon, Pennsylvania. They operated for a time until 09 June 1984 according to a skater on Facebook. They said it was opened since around 1970s. Open Corporations website said they established the rink as Incorporation on 20 September 1977.
The official name was Eynon Plaza Skate-O-Rama. Since I was never a skater, I do not know which side the rink was in that Chevron shaped plaza. Was it on where Big Lots is at or was it where Burlington Coat Factory store used to be? Dead Malls website focus on shopping malls, not plaza so I would not find it on there. Already checked and its not there as I expected it would not be.
My guess would be where Burlington Coat Factory used to be in because of how the backdrop is like. In old photo, no mountains or trees seen in the photo but blue sky and the rink itself. The wall looks very basic than it was with the current state of appearance of that plaza. Please advise by emailing me where it was, the exact date of open, why closed after 7 years, and any other information.
This rink was being in the area where Scranton-Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania is located. The town is not far from Interstate 81.
The skating rink was at the Eynon Plaza. Ironically, the plaza is also permanently closed according to Google.
The plaza is up for sale, I believe according to LoopNet.
The Interior.
As I can see in the photograph that was taken in 2015 had columns/posts that is quite common for a plaza that usually have flat roofs. Rinks in plazas usually have posts on the floor. Skaters do not like that but anyway, they had posts. I do not know what material roller rink floor was and have no idea of what the size was for the rink and size for the business itself compared to the plaza size of 173,000 Square Feet!

Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
