Senator Rollerdrome 1031 Del Paso Blvd, Sacramento, CA. Now as The Rink Studios. Taken in 2021. They added a very simple Art Deco by adding pillars to make it look Art Deco. But not quite. A real Art Deco? Go check Miami Beach on Collins Ave where all the movies filmed at (Burn Notice, Bad Boys, Miami Vice, CSI: Miami, Fast and Furious, and more). Source: Google.

Senator Rollerdrome 1031 Del Paso Blvd, Sacramento, CA
Originally, it was Winter Gardens Roller Rink very briefly before it became Senator Rollerdrome at 1031 Del Paso Boulevard, (North) Sacramento, California. It was operational by Francis A. Nicholas. Both the operator and the rink joined RSROA - Roller Skating Rink Operators Association in September 1946 according to Billboard that September 1946... This could mean the rink was first opened that year. Information are quite infrequent.
Another article said this was a roller rink in 1970s and 1980s. Was it the Senator Rollerdrome? Or a different name because it appeared to be separately from 1940s skipping decades of 1950s and 1960s. A large gap. Will need dates for all brand names at this location. For now just Winter Gardens and Senator Rollerdrome are confrimed names and listed.
It must be Francis A. Nicholas who left in late 1940s or early 1950s. Not sure.
In 1950s, it was Thomas and Dorothy Lane who operated the rink. It was the couple who operated AND taught champions to skate and they earned hundreds or even a thousand championships. Each catalogries, each level of champions from local to state to regional, to national. I am sure international too.
The Senator Roller Drome shut its doors in 1976.
It was abandoned for a short time and sold. It is currently The Rink Studios, a music studio and music venue. In fact The Rink Studios Plans are in the works (as of 16 September 2017) to add pieces of history to The Rink Studios with pictures and roller skating medals belonging to Milton’s father.

The Exterior.
Winter Gardens Roller Rink: Simple Brick design that is very much a Mid-Century design that bridges between much Late Art Deco and MCM (Mid-Century Modernism). No Googie's here. California is famous for Googie Architecture as Miami is famous for Art Deco although North Scramento, CA is famous for Art Deco. It is matter of the design itself at this rink was a departure from Art Deco as it was one early to enter MCM of 1940s and 1950s. Art Deco died when World War II began. MCM began in fact before World War II because of Googie's Restaurant was the first to have that architecture style. John Lautner designed Googie's which the style of architecture began came from and named after the restaurant. More on Googie's...
This architecture was quite opposite of Googie's. Miminalist at its best. I love the style of this building.
The roofline was Segmental Hip Arch. That is because it is an arch but each end it has a curve from the front to the roofline the same with the rear.
