All three courtesy of Google Map. Sorry for the phone wires in the pics. that is what it was in the way. I tried different perspective without the wires, you cannot get it. The Google Mapper did not get on the property to take pic of it. Oh well.
Also Google Mapper smudged some things on the picture. Please, take better pictures without the smudges on them. Thank you!

courtesy of Peter S. on Google Image. Those were taken in 2017 before the water pipe damaged the wood floor. Originally was Concrete! You are seeing the original wood floor. Noticed it had two Diamond Balls. (Mirror Balls) Now wait till you see the update after floor repairs. Beautiful picture, Peter! Good job!
Both above courtesy of Mark Saint / Roller Coasters Skate Center. Another great view of same position taking picture, different lights on. This time you can see the balls lite up shining. The thing on the wall in the back is a monitor showing bursts (noticed in both pictures are different?)
Courtesy of Peter S. Nice job taking those pictures! Beautiful pictures. I love the colors. Bottom shows the Snack bar. Truly updated truly unique. I love this! Best one I ever seen on Dead Rinks! And in my research. I am sure there are real beautiful ones for rinks alive (still operational elsewhere). Best design ever. This is the year 2020 winner already for best snack bar design for a Dead-Rink! Very friendly and a style of its own. I cannot name this from a name they use out there. Because it is unique. That is why. The design is its's own. I would have to name it after this rink, Roller Coasters Style. It did have a faux light around the sign. No light shining. It could have and should have. It would be the Main Street America style kind of like what 49th Street Galleria and other 1970s fair design would be. This re-assembled little bit to 1970s Fair theme. Nice job Mark! (Not me, the owner of this rink).
Six photos courtesy of Mark Saint / Roller Coasters Skate Center. The water pipe broke ruined the floor on June 19, 2018 so they got insurance covered quickly and repaired and finally final coat on August 17 -- 2 months to repair! It does take a while to built the floor BUT does take a while to dry the Epoxy. It is a slow long warm (required) curing process to do Epoxy coating. It takes 72 hours to mature. That is 3 days to dry. I was told it takes about 2 weeks for a team of professional rink flooring crew to finish a rink this size.
Roller Coasters Skate Center 6921 Hwy 431 S., Owens Cross Roads, AL
Roller Coasters Skate Center was a rink at 6921 Hwy 431 S., Owens Cross Roads, Alabama. It recently closed in 2019. Some says it was in 2018. It is not clear when. However, according to their Facebook, it was on June 29, 2019. Could it have been because of a pending complaint and lack of sufficiant air conditioning system. Read the complaint in BBB website. It is sad. Apparently with summer coming up in 2019 which was a year after the complaint, they shut down for good in the same month of June. Apparently they knew about the complaint that they did not reply back to the BBB. Perhaps they realized and better shut down. When you do, that is when you can get out of the mess.. sort of, legally but I am not going to further on this. This is legal matters should be between this rink and the complaint privately. Second of all, this is e-museum which can explain if any business had bad marks, they will be noticed in their profiles like this one. However, advises, always seek advises from your attorney for your rink or any business you own for your own safety from any legal obligations that may rise within you or your business. That is our disclaimer. Always seek for an attorney when you have a legal complaint you received through BBB.
Trip Advisor has a person compliant about air-con as well. Better call up the Falso!
It was opened in 2003. It did not last long. 16 years this rink was in operations. I do not know what the average length of operating a rink these days but it is far shorter than a hundred years ago. Or to compare to 1955 or 1980. I am sure it is shorter nowadays.
This rink has very interesting history regarding to the rink floor. Originally it was concrete. Then they added Maple floor over the concrete. You may think, "Oh, that is normal" Yes it is but no, you will see they had paint job for the center of the concrete floor (see photos) thanks to the water pipe break in 2017 exposing their floor when they had to rebuilt and they added Maple floor over it without having any plywood boards down for better cushion and moist buffer between cold hard concrete floor and moderate temperature on the wood. Or for flotation built. Some rinks have that. Or did have. I think Skate Country of AZ has those.
The logo was very creative. Different and I felt it was a little dated though. And a little late on that too. It feels 1990s because of the swirls for the wheels were common in 1990s as I recalled on several logos. I cannot pinpoint the name of this art even I am an Artist myself. It was drawing blank however, that was 1990s style along with the color, the texture, the fonts. The "Skate Center" words had a font that gave a 1930s style which 1990s had 1930s look as in-vouge at the time. Remember we brought back the Fedora hat, Zoot Suits, Zig Zag, etc.? As for graphics, almost as if it was carried over from 1980s Milan Art that was popular in 1982 to 1988. That is what the whole logo was designed for. A little late to have that look already for 2003. The name Roller Coasters, however, was clever. It was shaped in two ways. One to be like a skate but it did have that roller coaster that you would find at any theme parks you have been to around the country. They had the floor redone due to a water pipe break on June 19, 2018.
The owner name is Mark Saint.
The Interior.
The updated floor finishing touch that was a three coat Clear Master Glide Floor Coating. Three! This is an Epoxy coat over Maple Fan-Layout floor. Originally it was Maple floor with similar coating however, before that, they had poured Concrete with White paint center in Checker layout. Water pipe break destroyed the floor on June 20, 2018 and rebuilt immediately that summer. Just 4 days after the complaint occurred!
The original lights on the ceiling were different than the updated with the tube round lights that is LED. Those LED round lights are bit too bright. (most rinks in the South that are closed in AL and GA sporting this kind of light with round lights. Looks like gaining popular but this one is too bright. You will see that in the photo and it is beautiful though. One of best designed there. The 3-coated clear coat really reflex well with the LED lights on the floor and black light colors on the wall.
On the side are lockers, bathrooms, arcade games, snack bar and eating area.
The colors are mostly Blue however, a lot of black light colors. Beautiful colors and well balanced to maintain brighter off the rink than on the rink. Just the same as family fun or cosmic bowling would do. (I personally dislike they do that to bowling. I prefer plain lights on) and no music on for bowling. We must hear the ball hit the floor and rolling! Just like the 1950s bowling would be. Rinks.. It is okay. But not too dark!
What I love the best is the snack bar. I declared it is year 2020 Best Dead-Rink Snack Bar Design of the year. The exterior would be... Skate Daze of Omaha, Nebraska. It gave a rebooted 1970s Flair Carnival theme for 2000s. It is very unique that I calls this design Roller Coasters Style named after this rink for the rebooted style.
I like the chalk board background for menu. But it was a little clutter though. Can read though.
There are no photograph available of the party room for me to use because too many people in it. It has a zebra print on one wall and a mural with tropical trees and animals not unlike my mural I did for a client in year 2000. 20 years ago. If you want to see them (We have policy no people in picture to protect identity of people. And one photo there has a woman not knowing that her nibble was exposed while sitting down. This is why I do not want people in photos). You can see them here. Many photos there related to birthday parties. But roll down to find the one I am speaking of. I already reported to Google regarding this for their own safety.
The Exterior.
Very simple Gable Free-Span Steel Truss Steel-Walled Warehouse style building but the canopy with colorful Barrel shaped Arch is quite similar to this other rink that was closed as well. And yes, in Alabama. it was Mega Skates in Muscle Shoals, AL. Very similar concept of the arch. Was this same owner? It was possible.
