Holiday Skating & Fun Center 1775 Creek Rd., Delanco, NJ. I really love this picture! Very sharp, untouched! Although it looked leaning toward back. It was because we are much shorter than the building! Likely taken in 2019. Source: Steemit - blogger.

Holiday Skating & Fun Center 1775 Creek Rd., Delanco, NJ. Now you can see one side the mural. The rest were similar to this one. Unfortunately, no one took pictures of all sides. Oh well. This is fanastic mural because it is quite difficult to master. I love the spinning "needles" and some spin out. Really good job! Source: Holiday Skating & Fun Center/ The Rink Facebook.

Holiday Skating Center was in Delanco, New Jersey and they closed on Monday, 16 March 2020. That was the start of the COVID pandemic lockdown.
This beloved rink that had entire floor, not just the rink floor, entire floor in Maple wood! Entire building!
The rink was used in a music video and the name was clearly shown. I admit I do not listen to music. But interesting concept for a music video that they had all ages of adult skaters from young in 20s to 80s something. The name in the video gave away easily.
In Google Map 2018 showed they were working on another part of the front making it look like it was going to be an additional doors and windows as if it was going to be another small business section in that building. It is sad.
UPDATE! -- 06 June 2022.
Received this email from someone who had a connection with this rink. Here is what he has to say.
Good evening,
Came across your website claiming Holiday Skating Center is on the “dead” list. Actually the business was sold.
The rink is now known as (ironically) The Rink The walls were painted, game room moved to the front of the building. Except for the logo outside the building looks the same.
Ray Rendfrey and Frank Datillio built Holiday after buying a plot of land. They previously owned Riverside Roller Rink in Riverside NJ. The goal was to build a bigger and better ring [sic]. Construction was finished and the new rink opened in 1974.
Construction was completed using cinder block walls. The roof, a free span steel arched truss system, was actually a roof of an airplane hangar from the defunct Camden Airport in Camden NJ. Ray Rendfrey, an accomplished pilot, knew the airport was being torn down and purchased the roof.
I worked for Ray Rendfrey, and then for his son Ted Rendfrey for 14 years. If you need any more historical or current information, please feel free to reach out to me.
Thanks,
J.
J. Technically, old names of rinks are considered dead. Former operations. It is like converting a closed Carrols for a Burger King in its spot. Although Carrols is still operating but its Burger Kings now. And that history actually happened. Now back to this rink, it is dead because it was sold and became the Rink. (There are many "The Rink" which are not affiliated to each other.) Also Kaufmann's, Marshall Fields, and others became Macy's after the Acquisition as another example I am talking about. On Facebook, I am member of several retail and shopping malls groups that are dead and people would say even those brands are called dead even after the merger. So, technically its dead.
The profile was made but was not listed in the New Jersey list because I actually made it on the day they announced of closure but the management/operators did not inform me as I requested at the time and I was busy making 2 to 3 profiles a day and I finally got the email and updated this profile. Pictures added, etc. Glad this rink has a new owner and new name. Although I like the classic look of the sign on the outside.
Thank you J.!
The Interior.
Entire floor with hardwood Maple wood even off rink floor! It had The Interior. 90' by 200' rink. That is just 5 feet wider than NHL rink! This was or rather still, a large rink. But the largest is Guptill's Arena in upstate New York.
They had renovations in 1971 and 2020. The 1971 was to update from 1955 appearance. However, they updated again for The Rink.
The Exterior.
It was a hybrid roof style building. Someone said it looked like Ames Department store building but I am not confirming it is. Will need to find out more about it. Often this look would associate with Safeway but it was not.
It has Segmental Arch roof in center part and each side is Flat roof. Reminds you of a Grill you have your back yard that has curved covered to cook your favorite ribs, chicken, coneys, and turkey burgers or whatever food. Anyway, it has standard Red-Brick bricks on the wall. The building appeared to be 1950s style. What gave away was that the arched-curved roof, the 1950s/1960s decorative blocks you can see in the photo. The appearance of windows and doors as well.
Front doors added in 2018. Although they renovated in 1971 and they did renovated again but under new management for The Rink.
I love the 1950s style fonts on the exterior front wall where the arch is. The new owner removed that and put on a more difficult to read sign from the street as seen in Google Map. It is sad that the 1950s look is no longer. However, the hue of green from 1950s stayed on. It appeared to be a little balance of blueness in that green. It looks like Medium Sea Green (HEX #3BC371) which was somewhat common in 1950s. Truly lasting color.
Originally constructed as an airport hanger.

Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former.
