Mountain View Roller Rink 618 River Rd, Pigeon Forge, TN
Funland Roller Rink came first in 1979 followed by Mountain View Roller Rink in 1982. That was a space of three years. They were at 618 River Road, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Well, that is what I got for the address. There is no such thing as 618 River Road! It is either North River Road or South River Road and usually have four digit numbers, not three. And all along on that road are bunch of hotels, motels, 7 go-kart tracks, 3 mini-golf courses, and more on the next block on the other side of Highway 321. That would be at least 3 more go-kart tracks and 2 more mini golf courses. I did not count how many swimming pools because they are part of those hotels.
This town, Pigeon Forge is a mountain city resort with heavy tourism. It is their own version of Orlando, Florida. But not much difference from say, Nashville, the Country Music Capital of the world where there are a couple of amusement parks, stages, etc. as well as Branson in Missouri which is not that far either.
This town I should check it out and ask around where was those two rinks on River Road because only.. like I said.. North or South and they have four digit numbers. No less than 3000 blocks. Hmm. In meantime, should I go on go-kart at all 18 to 20 tracks? Haha. Hey, too many go-cart tracks! And no roller rinks? Not fair! The town needs to have an ordinance to limit new track businesses and make it easier to help roller rink businesses open up and operating there.
And about a half dozen to a dozen mini golf courses? haha. Too many for this small town.
I think I know why they both closes so soon. And the Spin City too closed as well. This is a tourist town and no one wants to skate inside while its nice out to go go-karting or play mini golf or go golfing or go hiking or in the wintertime, skiing and maybe snowmobiling. Orlando has similar problem. It is a tourist town and having a rink there.. Look at Disney, they had it for ONE YEAR!
