Of course, they showed a skater who fell down and the woman laughed at him. That is how I see it. Courtesy of Main Street Gazette.

XZFR Rockin’ Rollerdome Pleasure Island, Walt Disney World, Orlando, FL
This rink, XZFR Rockin’ Rollerdome was opened along with all the restaurants and night clubs and shops at Pleasure Island near Orlando, Florida. This was opened along with everything in May 1, 1989 but they closed the rink because the nightclub park people thought it was dangerous to roller skate! That is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard! Sure people do get hurt but it is one of most safest sports there is! They perhaps were afraid of liability insurance as it was rising so fast in 1980s to 2000s and beyond.
They did serve alcoholic beverages AT the rink and allowed drinkers to skate. Is that what they mean by dangerous? Krraasshhh.. Yes, really. That is my opinion! Disclaimer- OPINION! They could have only serve to non-skaters only and away from that area OR if that is supposed to be part of the largest theme park in the world, a FAMILY friendly park, then alcoholic beverages should not been involved, period. NONE of at the park anywhere. Period.
Unfortunately, they closed the roller rink in year 1990 and turned into Rock'n'Roll Beach Club. Most of the nightclubs closed too. Now it is mostly restaurants and shops/stores on the island. Didn't they once had the Lake Buena Vista before Pleasure Island? Very similar format. Hmm. Now that island is called Disney Springs. People are still hoping it will be like the original 2-- LBV and PI.
That club was the first one to close that year on February 2, 2008 before every club closed in September 27, 2008 due to the Great Recession but also the theme park people thought that third party vendors would take over because the vendor that wanted the RRBC building into whatever they wanted by leasing but the vendor for that site backed out and everyone else backed out too because of the Great Recession and when one goes, all goes. They messed it up with expensive mistakes.
The building was demolished in February 2011.
Still, what made them think its dangerous to skate?
Mark (not me!) said that when he first checked this place out, he said there was no customers. I think this is the real reason. Lack of customers. He mentioned in his blog, Insights and Sounds.
The Interior.
It was Maple floor as I can see the only photo of the rink they had through Orlando Sentinel Newspapers. It was on second floor above the dance floor where a live band played below the floor. The photo which was difficult to see since it was printed for newspaper in black-and-white at the time. It apparently showed what it looked like faux building fronts on the wall and there is which appeared to be another floor above the rink seen in background and on the right in this September 1989 photo. It does look like an island in middle of the roller rink floor. Maybe seating or something there. But upstairs, I do not know because I never been there! Last time I was at this huge theme park was in 1978! Never seen the new addition (ECOPT) in 1980, never been to their water theme parks, yes, plural. And never been to the Lake Buena Vista and the Pleasure Island before. Nope.
The Exterior.
It was rather very unusual building. It was a multistory building that it was built with difficult stairs to climb! I am sure they had elevator. It was Industrial look.

Some states allow purple paint on fence which means they even have guns on their property and have rights to shoot you. Please DO NOT attempt to enter property without permission!
For abandoned rinks, after you receive permission, do WEAR safety OSHA equipment including a safety glasses, pair of safety gloves, an orange vest or a jacket, and a construction helmet.
Thank you for understanding.
Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. I provide what information from other websites, skaters, and operators and it may end up with different results between two (or more) sources. It is not our responsible for errors we caused. All sources are shown on each page. All opinions and statements of mine are also stated and are for purely educational entertainment only.
Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
