Decatur Family Skate Center 1287 Columbia Drive, Decatur, Georgia. The former rink was housed in this building at the end of the plaza as a detached, L shaped platform. Now I believe it is a medical center. Source: Google.

Decatur Family Skate Center 1287 Columbia Drive, Decatur, Georgia. This map pinpointed where the roller rink was. It was the Light Blue color area on the map-- the largest part of the plaza as you can see on the left side of the picture.. That was the rink. Not the small building on top. International Skate World 1287 Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA
Decatur Family Skate Center and previous rink before that was International Skate World. Both were at a shopping plaza on 1287 Columbia Drive in Decatur, Georgia.
I do not have much information nor history to describe both places. What much harder to find out is the history of both.
Decatur Family Skate Center was opened in 2001 only to close and become International Skate World in 2004 then they closed in 2010 to become a night club. Then the night club closed 2 years later to become more permanent necessity type of business- blood donation. Keith Jones started and operated the Decatur Family Skate Center .
The Interior.
N/A due to no photographs.
The Exterior.
Not much to say because I could not get any zoom in or close up of this facility. I can tell where in this shopping plaza. Its the furthest side building toward the back of this plaza. The building is free-standing though. It does have colorful appearance on the outside. It might have been for International Skate World and then when they closed, the owners of Elders' Entertainment Center which was a night club took over, the appearance pretty much was the same. Colorful solid colors.
It had Hip roof design up front with 4 solid colors: Blue, Red, Yellow, and White. Now it is Clean White with Royal Blue Aluminum sheets for Hip roof. Very modern now.
The Stats:
Rink Size: N/A Floor: N/A Floor Layout: N/A

Reason for Closure:
Decatur Family Skate Center: N/A

Elders Entertainment Center: (not a rink, but a night club): N/A

Wanted: Information regarding close up photos, interior photos, exact where it was, exact dates of open and closed. Why closed, what kind of floor, what size of the rink and the building where the rink was, not the entire plaza!
Anyone has pictures and/or information please let me know at [email protected]. Thank you.
