Google Map. Taken in December 2015. My, was that warm in December 2015, Louisville? Amazing! Anyway, that is the rink that was still operational that year. They must have closed shortly after that.
Google Map. September 2017. Already closed and out of business. You can tell the white primer paint over the sign and the emergency doors were open for renovations in there. It was sad.
They updated to a mixture of 2000s and the Graying of America. You can spot Googie's Architecture they renovated into. This is a Mix Architecture style today. Yes, they replaced that 1950s-1970s style Stone Wall Veneer into popular 1990-2015 Flatstone Wall Veneer.
Courtesy of Joe Campa/Champ's Rollerdrome. This display table exhibited history of Champ's. Darn I wish I was there to see it, Joe! Got anymore stuff, Joe?

Champ’s Manslick Rollerdrome 721 Gagel Ave, Louisville, KY
Outerlimits Fun Center 721 Gagel Ave, Louisville, KY (Currently operating)
Outerlimits Fun Center 721 Gagel Ave, Louisville, KY (Currently operating)
This being one of the Champa's owned Champ's Manslick Rollerdrome at 721 Gagel Avenue in Louisville, KY. You will see the similarities in design with the Stone Wall Veneer and Steel sheet metal above the veneer as it has with other Champ's locations except for the Valley Rollerdrome. And that 1970s "Low Gable Roof" design too.
I love the 1970s look at the time with such designs.
From what I saw on Google Map. Likely the whole building was a Champ's but looked like they split the building as money was needed and they had a business next door that just ran out of business in 2020 (a grocery store) and now, four spots. The former grocery store, Outer Limits Fun Center--a roller rink, a pharmacy, and a smoke and liquor shop as well.
Apparently those spots were big and was split into a plaza like. Yes, the stone wall is still there!
Currently as Outerlimits Fun Center, a space aliens/UFO/space themed roller rink. Pretty dark in there! I personally do not like the art work there. Too busy walls with too much graffiti all over.
The Interior.
N/A. Floor more likely Maple. Now for Outerlimits, it is Dark Gray Concrete.
The Exterior.
It was one of those true 1970s architectural design. Free-Span Steel Truss Steel and Stone Wall Veneer -Walled Storefront - like Building. The roof is Gable. Likely they added next door to the left that became a grocery store (now permanently closed). That style truly exhibit 1970s feel with the Stone Wall Veneer and Steel sheet metal above. A classic design from that period of time.
They replaced the classic 1970s look that Champ's had commonly designed at almost every rink. This time, the owner of the property renovated completely that part into more modern. It exhibit a mixture-- Googie's and 1990s look. So, it is called Mix Architecture style. Yes, there is a common name for that.
The canopy acted the same way with wide low hung Gable roof design similar to the other Champ's Rollerdrome in Highview. The Highview Rollerdrome. So, the Highview was likely a Champ's because of so similar to the name and architecturally.
