Skate World Route 422, Douglassville, PA
CC Skate Ranch Route 422, Douglassville, Pennsylvania was original rink and later, it became Skate World.
Both operators, William Clark and Harold Christman started CC Skate Ranch for 175,000 USD with a 12,000 Square Foot Hardwood Maple Floor in a 180 Feet by 80 Feet building, opened for business around the first of October 1968 according to the article in The Mercury News, Thursday, 20 June 1968.
Both gentlemen also owned a few other rinks including CC & M Skate Ranch.
They decided to sell the rink for an unknown reason. Anyone know why they decided to sell? They sold the rink to Mekosh Brothers in 1978 and renamed it as Skate World. They operated from 1978 to c. 1983.
However, William Clark and Harold Christman seized the rink from Mekosh Brothers and lease out to Dick Miller. But Dick Miller defaulted the lease so Bill Clark and "Chas" Christman sold it again for an office-warehouse. Sadly this happens however, if any one, never know, can buy back and reboot again as a rink for one of the 9 lives left like a cat does. That occurrance above was two rink names but four lives of the rink. I am listing only as two because that is all the names were. Unless Bill and Chas did renamed it again as CC Skate Ranch.
The fate of the building in question as I attempted to search on Google Maps is fruitless. Likely it was demolished. There is no block or street number as in mailing address when I listed this rink. Back the day many people never mentioned house or business number. Just say the street and for some reason people tend to know where they are without any Google Maps, without cell phones. Amazing how life used to be. Still, where the building?
Side Note:
When I did the research, it is funny what I found on Dun & Bradstreet that CC & M Skate Ranch, Inc was founded in 2010! Not kidding, check here: CC & M Skate Ranch, Inc. and it says it is a general farming. I see what and why this happens. When a business fold and assets including the rights to the name can be sold to anyone and anyone can use that for anything else these days. Some can be a cruel joke or just a joke to register to keep the name so that no one else can use it. Sometimes that can happen.
The Interior.
CC Skate Ranch: It had Beautiful 12,000 Square Foot Hardwood Maple floor, non-painted. Likely had Expoy coat. It had Log Cabin stle layout with Steps for each stud. The lights were colorful yet simple lights, not the disco lights but tube bulbs. The grand opening day photo showed that they had popular wood panels on the wall. In later years, it was not there.
Skate World: It had no wood panels as it was removed but the rest remained the same as CC Skate Ranch. This is just educated guess. Any more, please let me know.
The Exterior.
CC Skate Ranch: Free-Span Steel Trusses Steel - Walled Warehouse - like Building with roof: Gabled. Low pitch roof. As seen in a single photo as evidence, it had two tones. Goldish color with White.
Skate World: It had similar appearance likely. Repainted? I am not sure. Anyone?

Some states allow purple paint on fence which means they even have guns on their property and have rights to shoot you. Please DO NOT attempt to enter property without permission!
For abandoned rinks, after you receive permission, do WEAR safety OSHA equipment including a safety glasses, pair of safety gloves, an orange vest or a jacket, and a construction helmet.
Thank you for understanding.
Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. I provide what information from other websites, skaters, and operators and it may end up with different results between two (or more) sources. It is not our responsible for errors we caused. All sources are shown on each page. All opinions and statements of mine are also stated and are for purely educational entertainment only.
Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
