Calera Skate Arena 9600 Highway 25, Calera, AL 7.5 acres are all in this photo. The ghostly lines on the right side in the property in the photo were likely they cut the trees down. Perhaps a logging company did that. Because you can see the Loop Net photo of the rink and full of trees compared to the empty property now that there are less trees. It is sad. Source: Google.

Calera Skate Arena 9600 Highway 25, Calera, AL
Calera Skate Arena 9600 Highway 25, Calera, AL was a roller rink but its no longer there. It first began in 1984 according to Rink Time. Was it originally a rink when it was built in 1972? According to Rink Time, it said 1984 and Manta says 1994. Which is true? And was it really a rink opened in 1972? One brings curiosity to me. I think not. I believe Trulia was explaining about the house behind the former rink on the same said property of 7.5 acres of land. It was the homeowner who operated the rink at the time. In the past, many rinks had a house right next door. One in Florida I know of and another in Georgia. The house was built in 1972 but later, had the rink perhaps built 20 years later and opened. But closed and demolished. I believe it was up for sale for the building and the property but they demolished it and then they sold the house too.
I am aware that the description in Trulia actually mentioned the rink building, not the house behind it.
The Interior.
N/A.
The Exterior.
It was a Gable roofed Cinder-block warehouse like building. In fact, it did look more like a store or bakery for a certain long time national chain of bread you buy in every G-store and C-store. The murals had quite a bit of color dots of different sizes. This is why I said it does look more like it was a outlet store for a certain bread company. No offense but it does. Well, it has been demolished. It was 9,000 Square Feet building. A very simple design.

Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former.
