Bradford Skating Rink 406 East Main Street, Bradford, AR
This rink was reported by a skater who skated there and I could not find information regarding this place. Any one else know more about this? It was operational in 1999 till a few years before 2021.
This is what this skater told me in email and I do not understand it is not listed at all on the internet.
The Bradford Skating Rink that opened back up in January of 99 and just like the towns character the owner was one as well. I knew him as a kid and had skated there before heck I stopped by when it was closed a few years and was allowed in and at the time the owner told my dad that he would like to open it back up? Guess he found a way. The place was awesome a true THUNDERDOME I loved it.
He obviously went up the road to the next county and put it in [his] sister's name. He has always policed this place but I think I can get in due to my previous introductions. F.Y.I. The three vehicles in the back have NOT MOVED one [inch] from that exact spot in 30 years and that's a FACT. 2 [automobiles] are barracudas and kids busted the heck out of ever one of them inside and out.
It does appear to be abandoned rink. It even has 3 abandoned automobiles parked there. Reminded me of the "Camaro" Rink in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate NY. In that one, a Camaro is sitting there abandoned.
It was said to be running for three years.
The Interior.
N/A.
The Exterior.
Gabled roofed building appeared to be wood built. I am not sure but it looked that way. It had circus-like stripes of Red-Orange-ish with Yellow. Part of it was not those colors but White.
Also outside behind the old rink are three abandoned automobiles parked in the fresh cut lawn but they are all rusted out with broken windows. Two are said to be Plymouth Barracuda, the pony car turned into muscle that ran from 1964 to 1974. PLEASE do NOT attempt to take the cars. It belongs to the owner of the rink if that is correct. Please leave as it is. The cars are still parked there for more than 30 years.
