However, I am bothered to see a couple of each kind of lockers that are not matching to more common quarters and locking lockers. I see combination lockers and a couple of odd looking lockers. What are those lockers? Yup, you can see Big Brotherism is watching you at the rink. The graffafi showed the lock. That is cool but.. it appeared to be A and spells as Lackers. I think they need to fix that into O. And put the lock on the O. Source: United Skates Jackson / Google Image.

Jackson Skating Center 2270 West County Line Road, Jackson, New Jersey was operational for 44 years until their final rink on Monday, 03 October 2022. It was part of Rollermagic. At one time, they had as many as five Rollermagic rinks Then the final 2 including this one and the other rink, the still operational South Amory Arena Rollermagic. When Jackson Skating Center closes, you can go to the other rink or to a rink nearest you. Hold that skate case and your keys, read next paragraph!
UPDATE! -- 14 June 2023.
I apologize for the late entry from my alert that this rink, Jackson Skating Center was sold to United Skates of America, a chain company that operates roller rinks. They reopened on 24 March 2023 after they renovated to make it more like a United Skates of America trademarked appearance. Like McDonalds did have their Mansard Roof style restaurants and Golden Arches Salt-Box restaurants, as well as Pizza Hut had their Hut style buildings and Chevrolet has its Royal Blue and Silver Minimalist Dealership appearance.
This time, it was the interior with more darker views and has Black Lights Graffiti murals. Photos are added above.
Never mind the line reminds you a movie trailer TV commercial says, "A theater nearest you".. Haha. Anyway, a joke.
44 years operating places this rink at the height of Disco Skating era of 1978. It survived the Great Insurance Killer of 1980s and other recessions including 1980-1982, 1990s, 2001-02, 2006 to 2011ish and had much harder time with the Great Virus Lockdown era of 2020 to 2022.
The reason for closure is unknown. I asked them and even asked reporters and reporters even asked too. No one knows-- yet. 99 percent of operators DO report why they are closing or sold their rinks in this Social Media era today. Even with the old fashioned called press including newspapers, television news, and cable news. I saw at least half dozen sites said same answer. I am too. I asked and the rink have not answered yet. Likely the higher up, the company that owned this rink has nothing to say. Just like Fast Eddie does with Sears and Kmart. But with his case, it was all about real estate. We figured that part out for the beloved chains that are gone.
The property is said to be worth 1,345,600 USD. The taxes annually on the property is expensive! At 34,084 USD! You would need thousands of skaters to come EACH night to make up the differences to pay for the taxes and then you have rest to pay such as business income tax for state and federal, school tax, utilities, food, and of course, insurance!
Originally, this place was a bowling alley before the rink came along in 1978 so the built was sometimes long before that.
The Interior.
The original from 1978 is unknown. And the carpet may have changed during 1990s likely. Then change again in early 2010s. The 2nd generation carpet you can see in some photos had a lot of light color dots on Black. But the updated had a lot of stars and swishes on blue carpet. Still Backlight glow.
The half-walls are build with Cinderblocks.
The murals had quite busy design on one end of the rink with RSAI mascots including Roo and others. There are musical notes on it and other busy art on the wall.
The other walls had more simple design with different destinative characters on Snow White walls. Those murals reminded me very similar to the murals seen at Sports-O-Rama when it was done in 1990 when I was working there. The party room had that look. White walls and characters of people on skates.
United Skates Jackson:
The Exterior.
Free-Span Steel Trusses Cinderblocks - Walled Theater - like Building with Flatted Roof. It does have a theater-like appearance and it is quite modern when they build it. One of the best design. I love that look. The final appearance had Snow-White and Moonstone Blue color trim on it. Beautiful colors. It had many vertical lines to make the building more interesting and it has Moonstone Blue part inbetween narrow vertical "ribs" of the building. Making this more Conservative and clean design. Moonstone Blue canopy over the front doors for enter and exit.

Some states allow purple paint on fence which means they even have guns on their property and have rights to shoot you. Please DO NOT attempt to enter property without permission!
For abandoned rinks, after you receive permission, do WEAR safety OSHA equipment including a safety glasses, pair of safety gloves, an orange vest or a jacket, and a construction helmet.
Thank you for understanding.
Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. I provide what information from other websites, skaters, and operators and it may end up with different results between two (or more) sources. It is not our responsible for errors we caused. All sources are shown on each page. All opinions and statements of mine are also stated and are for purely educational entertainment only.
Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
