Photo courtesy of Russel Saboe Greater Midwest Realty. I could not retrieve information on this on his website. Nor any websites that has this rink up for sale. It even had a television antenna! It apparently was empty and closed because of the steel shipping containers.
As you can see the same blue shipping container still sitting on the property. It may say copyrighted 2019 but actually sometimes before. Likely to match to the ground level Google Map. See next photo and you will see its there.
Taken in June 2019! Clearly it has been closed for a while. Were they going to ship those stuff out of the rink or become a storage? Google Mapper did not drive up that street to take a closer look. I had to use another street.
World on Wheels Skate Center, 1586 320th Ln, Cambridge, MN
This rink which has similar name to the other location in Brainerd, MN. Likely it was under same ownership. Unfortunately, like many rinks I have done research did not provide much information at all. It was filed on June 28, 1993 and likely was open sometimes later that year but they are closed according to Bizapedia. The other Bizapedia source says it was an assumed name--see here.
There was a real estate ad with that rink photo capture on Google search. The listing is not available and likely was sold for 166,000 Dollars. Cheap price. The listing says it was in Isanti Township which is by Cambridge. Likely that was the very same. It IS located in the edge of the township.
The exterior had sort of Lime-Olive Green walls with white sign with spacious name of the rink with an In-line Skate on the left side when you view the front. It even mentioned a brand name, "Rollerblade."
The front was at one end. The other side was a railroad track. It had Gable roof store-front like warehouse.
I have no interior so I have no idea what it was like. Likely they closed in 2018-ish. Maybe 2019. But there is nothing online at all.
Zillow says that it was 14,000 SF and was last sold in August 2004 for 350,000 USD. Assessed in 2016 for 186,000 USD. A big drop.
Likely the most recent owner operated for few more years before being closed for good. There is no website. If you searched, you will end up with one that says World Of Wheels of Superior, Wi. Wrong one.
