Willoughby Rollerbowl 37415 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, OH. Fire in October 1972. Skaters and Disco dancers watched firefighters battle a huge fire up close! (Too close I think). And their cars blocked any other fire departments chance to pull in their engines and ladders if that was the case. Sure was a very bleak day when this was taken. You can see and feel the mood. Sad. I am feeling for you, Skaters and disco dancers. Sad, indeed. Source: Vitantonio Family Photo Collection.

Willoughby Rollerbowl 37415 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, OH
Willoughby Rollerbowl, a roller rink was at 37415 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio. This historic rink began on 2 July 1941 in the basement below the bowling alley. Hence the name Rollerbowl... Roller skating and bowling. Someone said this in Facebook.
One site said 12 different businesses were on that property alone. Most recent being a funeral home. It is all new building. From joy to sadness, literally indeed.
But in 1963-64 a new owner by the name of Mr. Vitantonio bought the rink. It was a family operations. And later renamed it, Orbit. Even Utopia, which was a Discothèque. But the rink was closed in 1960s due to it was not making money so it was converted to a Disco. However, the Utopia in October 1972, they had a fire. Destroying the facility. It was faulty gas water heater that the flame blew out of under the water heater tank and items next to it caught on fire. The disco floor was formerly bowling lanes wooden floor.
The family who owned the rink since 1960s owned disco.
They quickly rebuilt the disco at another location after the massive fire in October 1972 until they closed doors in 1990s. Now a funeral home.
I am bit confused with information from the group that Michelle managed with many names of this place and what came first, second, third, etc.
The Interior.
It was a roller rink on main floor as in the basement a bowling alley. They also had an organ music.
