Photo courtesy of Google Map. It is now a church at this location. You may wonder about parking. There were plenty more parking behind the structure. Between the church and the three story apartment complexes.
Wheels West, 300 23rd Ave NE, Great Falls, MT
Wheels West Roller Skating Center, 300 23rd Ave NE, Great Falls, MT
Roller City Roller Skating Center, 300 23rd Ave NE, Great Falls, MT
Wheels West and Wheels West Roller Skating Center were one and the same rink that Allan Hauser and his family operated from 1981 till we do not know when they closed for good. The same owner and family that operated Hauser's Roll-A-Rena and the more recent Hauser's Family Skating Center all of in Great Falls but different locations.
Roller City Roller Skating Center was another name for Wheels West. I have no idea why the Hausers changed that name.
This rink met its fate as well as the Roll-A-Rena. Ended up as a church. Seemly each time the Hauser Family closes a rink, a church takes over. Praise God we need churches, yes. But the process seemly to function that way in Great Falls, Montana after the rinks closes.
I think this rink closed because of another flooding problem. Seemly it occurred each time a flood, closes the rink for good and sold to a church. That is the pattern.
This one was clearly in a Gabled roof building but I am not sure what the original exterior was like because this church truly renovated the exterior walls and adding windows facing a park cross the street.
The Google Map truly only showed more recent times so I have no idea what this rink was like before it became a church. It is fancier church than the other location.
