Unnamed rink 205 11th St SW, Spencer, IA
This is unusual. This rink I found as I was researching for another Iowan skating rink and I came up with this one calling it, "New Spencer, IA Roller Skating Rink Mr. Me." I had to correct grammar here from his page. Was it Mr. Me? This was not very clear about this rink. Unfortunately not much to go on with that name.
All I found are photographs on his page. See above.
Apparently that was it I could find out.
This rink's location was very close to the former Dream World Skating rink. In fact about a block away.
Currently, it is a vet office.
I found on an online newspaper that you have to subscribe to it to be able to read it and I would not read it because I am only wanting to read one article. It was related to this rink. This would have helped me to know the name of this rink. Please do not bother with Spencer Daily Reporter newspaper online. I do not recommend them.
The Interior.
The interior was simple. Small narrow Concrete rink floor with two tone colored walls. It was Midnight Blue bottom half of walls with Snow White color. The Concrete floor was Warm Grey color.
The Exterior.
It was a Gable-roof warehouse like building that it was built for the rink back in ?? I do not know when this one opened and closed so I have no idea. Low pitch Gable though. All I am seeing is the current animal vet hospital.
The Stats:
Rink Size: N/A Floor: Concrete Floor Layout: Standard
Building Size: N/A Built: N/A Demolished: Still standing, now as a vet.
Type of Building: Free Span Steel Warehouse Building?
Roof: Gable; low pitch.
Acres: N/A
Operated: N/A
Reason for Closure: N/A
Wanted: Information regarding the name! More photos! Photos of exterior and dates of open and closed. Why closed?
