Courtesy of Google Map. As The Playhouse.
Courtesy of Conrad Bravo through Google Map collection. Noticed the Teal stays the same but new name and logo. Also new skate color. And yes, the wings are still there. The whole skate was moved a little bit and new colors on it. Also a new sign was added.
Courtesy of J. McClure. Notice a night club feeling to it with the barstools with counter to watch skaters skate. Excellent for parents. Sorry I do not think alcoholic beverages are served. No. Its a night club for kids! I love what they did to the floor in the snack bar area. Look below the barstools. It featured which looked almost like a symbol of compass. Bounce houses are in the back.
The next one- courtesy of Conrad Bravo. The Skate counter. A mix of barn like with Mardi-Gras. Interesting texture at this rink with colors and theme. A fusion of themes.

The Playhouse Skate and Fun Center 775 Crescent Dr, Gering, NE
Skateworld 775 Crescent Dr, Gering, NE
Brannan Bounce and Skateworld 775 Crescent Dr, Gering, NE
Zwetzig Skate and Bounce 775 Crescent Dr, Gering, NE (current)
There were changes and quite a bit. And ownerships change too. Some I could not get specific dates at all. When researching, I end up with one or the other of what rink at that location. I ended up mostly with the final two. The Brannan and Zwetzig businesses.
I believe the evolution really changed very slowly on each rink. Slowly. Especially between Skateworld and the current one. It appeared to be more of an inheritance for each owner that purchased the business. For example, The Brannans inherited the old Playhouse Skateworld and this they kept the name and pretty much the similar interior but painted the name of the facility inside on back wall and the exterior wall as well. Then two short years later, the Zwetzig bought it and changed the name but I believe the name Brannon was kept on the wall and the sign. Bit confusing? To me I think so!
First it was the Playhouse and it was opened in 1984. Then it was sold to Craig and Amber Brannan in June 2015. Then suddenly sold to the Zwetzigs in likely 2017. I am not sure. It is vague because of the lack of stating the date and they still display as Brannon on their Facebook and other locations.
Since the Brannons purchased the rink, there are bounce houses at the end of the rink.
The Interior.
It has a very interesting facility that has Sky Blue Polyurethane Concrete floor with center as seating area with half walls covered with flashy carpet that matches to the carpet on the wall. Older photos showed it was White walls! The front end has a huge seating area and a bar-like with barstools chairs to watch skaters. Brannons brought out new television monitors for people to watch TV and perhaps for announcements. It does feel like you are at a night club. A night club for kids? Neat idea!
The colors is very Mardi-Gras with Mardi-Gras Purple, Mardi-Gras Teal and Black It is awesome color. There were Blue and White look as well. I believe the newer ones are the Mardi-Gras colors and the wall for the Skate counter was very much rustic like it was a barn and has a diamond ball/mirror ball above the entrance to the back room where all skate rentals are along with "walkers" skate aid and scooters. McFly would love this! The Blue-and-White look had very clean Blue walls instead of the rustic wood barn look. The counter looks more like a faux Laminated granite.
