The Elms Skating and Dancing Eaton OH
The Elms Skating and Dancing was in Eaton Ohio across the street from Eaton Country Club just outside the city line. But it had its humble beginning in around July 1945 as World War II was about to end in the Pacific Theater. It was in right time to start because with the men from overseas coming home and ready to settle and they would roller skate once again.
Speaking of location, I could not place where it would be. I found the country club. I found the high school, but I see so much homes surrounding the golf course in Eaton. Was it west of the club on North of the course or the South? I thought it would be south because of the high school. Anyone know where exactly it was? photos? Anything?
It was founded and operated by L.L. Stayton. I do not know how long he operated it and when the Elms Skating and Dancing closed. Old rinks like this are hard to find out information.
This skating and dancing center was small. The rink was rather small at 5,600 Square Feet.
It was well equipped at the time with air conditioning, full lunch concession stand and of course, soda concession stand. Two stands? Interesting!
The Interior.
Possible Maple wood. 5,600 Square Feet roller rink. That was small rink!

The Billboard said it was a Free-Span Steel Trusses Cement - Walled Building.
