This is the front of the building but Talent was located in the side that you could not see in the photo. If I moved, I get blurred 10 years old photo from Google.
Talent Skatepark, 2069 Williston Road, Williston, VT
This may not be a roller rink but as you recall that skateboards are children of marriage between Surfboards and roller skates way back the day in 1950s/60s.
This skatepark perhaps had roller skates as well. This reminds me of an indoor skatepark that is still in operations in a dying mall in DeWitt, NY that they do have roller rink and skatepark under same roof and selling both skateboards and roller skates.
The location of this skate park was not that far from where Skateland Roll-A-Rinx used to be. It was right down the street. Not too many blocks. Just a stone throw distance.
Talent was located likely in the rear of the building. It was housed in a large Deep Blood Red building sharing with several small businesses. All related to health and physical.
The enterance was on the side of this building. What really impressed me was their rustic raised lettering TALENT on a reanglaur sign. In fact, even rust washed down onto the wall of the canopy where the sign was. It gave this modern skateboarder and skaters its theme of the place. It rely heavily on murals on the wall. What I liked is their pizza character giving peace sign and dark shades on. You can see that on YouTube video.
They had a huge store selling many merchandise like it is a store itself rather than a rink or skate park. What caused the closure was more and more people ordering online rather than in stores because of laziness and cheaper prices. Perhaps made-in-China stuff. Retail was the main income rather than skateboarders and skaters to pay admission as matter of fact. It was a very huge store there including sneakers, jackets, trucks for skates/boards, wheels, boards, and skates. It was more than just a skate shop, it was practically a mall size store.
They even had video games for gamers at home to play. That effort even failed. Many gamers prefer stay home now to play games rather than go skating/boarding.
This article is related to the ORIGINAL Talent Skatepark. Yes, it is making a comeback with same owner. At a different location. They are at 266 Queen City Park Road, Burlington VT 05401. Their tag is #keeprolling and on Facebook as well.
Likely the original was for profit in my opinion but now it is non-profit.
