I apologize that the photo is blurred. However, you can tell if you were there or you remembered what the place was like. I believe in the rear was where the mini-golf was. The building in the back must be part of it but I could not see the layout of the mini-golf course there.
The sign says SURFWOOD on the wall as the brick part was on the other part of the wall. Very unique mix of materials.

Surfwood 248 Boston St. (Route 1), Topsfield, MA
Baron P. Fryer Junior started Surfwood which was on Route 1 (known as 248 Boston Street) at Topsfield, Massachusetts and was a genius to create such a name that no one ever thought of. Surfwood. Get it? Yes, like surfboard you surf on water and they came up with skateboards. Well, this one, you should know you surf on wood floor by roller skating on it! Very catchy. This should be award winning for best name ever.
The bowling they had was really a Candlepin Bowling, that is, long stick small ball bowling, very different than Duckpin and the standard everyone knows called Tenpin Bowling that everyone plays. Having said about Candlepin Bowling, this is being in Massachusetts where the Candlepin Bowling is king along with New England and part of Canada. But it was invented in Worchester, Massachusetts far back as 1888. Please see Wikipedia for details. And their Facebook page as well. Very interesting sport! Bit hard to reach 300 though. Highest is 245.
The property was 4.48 Acres which is pretty big for a rink. That is because they had large mini-golf outside in the back behind the building (See photo). The building was only 14,880 Square Feet which is pretty average for just a rink but you have to include Candlestick bowling that has about same length as a Tenpin Bowling and this means smaller rink. Much smaller. I believe they would have wanted to expand further toward the back to increase size to add on more entertainment.
Sadly, they closed in June 1987.
The Interior.
No description or photos but all I can say that it had three main entertainment sections: Roller Skating, Candlepin Bowling, and Miniature Golf.
The Exterior.
This rink building was very unique and was built in 1964 for multi-uses entertainment center including roller skating, candlepin bowling, and miniature golf. The architecture on the outside was very modern in 1964! It had Red bricks bricks on on side of the front and two parts on the side "front" that is facing the road. It sits on a slight hill that goes up hill in the back. The building did not look that big to hold three different entertainment. Likely they were very small.
