Suncoast Skating & Entertainment, 10451 County Line Road, Brooksville, FL
Hernando Skating & Entertainment Center, 10451 Country Line Road, Brooksville, FL
(Currently as The Locomo)
This rather long name for a roller rank that ran short life in Spring Hill (Brooksville), Florida. This rink was operated from June 25, 1990 (incorporated) till Dissolution in August 26, 1994 as Suncoast but also operated as Hernando Skating. The rink was built in this shopping plaza as a lease space. Currently the daughter and son-in-law of Suncoast Skating opened and operating this rink as The Locomo.
I could not find any pictures. Unfortunately. So, any one has pictures? Information about the rink, when exactly opened and closed and why closed suddenly after four years? So, not much to tell. I assumed that the entrance was on the right side as you walk in, you see the rink on the left side wall toward back wall. Arcade on the front side, snack bar on the right side straight from the door as well as the skate rental. You can tell because of the current rink, The Locomo Skating Rink photos explained that. The current owners of the new rink totally remodeled it.
There are information on several websites that are conflicting report of ownership and dates of operations. Mostly by ownership and the name of the rinks. Just need o sort this correctly.
The rink itself, however does show its age. Maple hardwood, clear coated, epoxy coated, and oiled. Likely in videos, it appeared to be fan layout. Not much to go on here. No pictures, no logos, nothing.
However, current rink owner had new rink floor set up. Beautiful Maple wood floor.
