Photo Courtesy of Brandon S. on Yelp. Very drug store like building. Modern 2000s look.
All photos except for top photo are courtesy of Sumner Skate Zone. The bottom two are birthday rooms. Pink for girls, salmon for boys. Snack bar and skate store are combined.

Bottom four photos courtesy of Sumner Skate Zone. I love the 1950s barstools that you would find in an old A-store or P-Store (Department stores or Pharmacies respectively).
Sumner Skate Zone 1570 Pilot Vw, Gallatin, TN
Sumner Skate Zone was a rink that was recently closed for good. It was housed in a nice modern shopping plaza-like building but it was a free-standing building by itself. With its own parking lot. It was up the road for about 10 second long drive on a dead-end road cross from a shopping plaza.
The rink was open some date I do not know but it was recently closed. Likely the closed at end of 2018. Currently houses a non-denomination Church.
The rink looked new because of the exterior. The building looked like it was designed and built in 2000s. The trend at the time was tan, sand, earth tone browns at the time with the stucco look. It sure does look like a super sized drug store.
Interior, it is a beautiful Blue Coated Polyurethane rink. It sure look like Blue Ice. It has to be concrete floor with the checkered pattern in middle of the rink. It has simple art work on walls. It was themed as a beach with water, little bit of sand, and simple palm trees. And they had waves instead of clouds. I do not understand what these waves are. You will see in the picture. What the purpose has to do with the beach like. Those waves are more like a side of a candy wrap perspective.
Mostly the interior were several Blue hues and it gave that blue mood in there. It is supposed to relax but to me when I look at it, it did make me feel like tired and sleepy.
Critics on Yelp reported that the rink has either malfunctioned air conditioning or on purpose to have low running air conditioning to make guests feel hot and wants to purchase drinks but most have complained it is too hot and hated to spend money on purchasing drinks. With this modern facility, air conditioning should be functioning in full force. This is not Phoenix Arizona or Death Valley or Miami, Florida with all that hot and humidity or heat and dry air. Yes, it does get hot in Tennessee but do not forget skating does increase your body heat so then your body will forget about the cold blasting air. Skating is an exercising activity. Maybe is that why people are now liking just ice skating instead of roller? Who knows.
It had more blues including on the benches in the snack bar area. with popular neon carpet on the floor.
On the wall side of the rink, there were benches for skaters to sit. Of course, there were no half-walls to separate patrons watching and others skating. Only that wall are found on one end where the snack bar was.
The birthday room had feminine colors- Pink to represent females.. princess as you can see in a poster.
The best feature I liked at this rink was that they had 1950s style bar stools and nook skirt around the half wall for skaters to sit or parents to sit and watch skaters skate. It is a beautifully designed to appear at a modern rink which is a rare feast today.
Unfortunately, this rink did not last. We can safety say no doubt the reason why they closed for good. Also from what I saw on the map online through Google Map, this represented a problem. People do not see where the rink was. Why it was so hideous? Trees cloaked views from the road. How would people can see where the rink is. And as for the church itself on the Google Map, a small garage sale sign size was posted by the main road corner. I pray the church continue in serving the Lord even it is hidden.
You have to think Location, location, location! Second, got to turn air conditioning much colder!
