Photo and newspaper clipping courtesy of Eddie West (pictured on bottom right). The Starlite Starliters, a Speed skate team trained in military style!
Google Map, currently as an office supply store. Store purchased the old rink property and torn it down and rebuilt as what you see above. Next you see in this photo is the LLV that the USPS had it running since 1990 will be replaced with their Next Generation Vehicle (NGV) coming out later this year which should be about the size of a UPS / FedEx truck.

Stardust Skate Center 2406 Westgate Boulevard, Albany, GA
This Starlite Skate Center was held on 2406 Westgate Boulevard in Albany, Georgia. It had similar design to the Starlite Ormond Beach which is in Florida. Same management.
It was opened on August 5, 1975. Eddie said it was a great night that night of grand opening. Unfortunately it closed in around 1998.
That was the information above given to me by Eddie.
This place was also called Stardust Skate Center. What I just learned today that Eddie said Starlite was sold to Stardust which operated till they sold the rink to the office supply store and they reopened as Stardust 2 on Ledo. You can see their website at Stardust 2 Center.
The Interior.
Based on what Eddie said that it was similar to the Starlite Skate Center in Ormond Beach, I can image the theme very similar. Go to that page and find out what it was like at the Starlite Skate Center.
Clearly the rink floor was painted. It looked like White in the Newspaper Black-and-White. It was actually painted Ocean Blue on Concrete and had an Urethane coating on. It was Hawaiian theme. One theme per rink differ than the others.
Operator J.T. Strickland had it themed differently for each. The Ormond Beach rink had Spanish theme. The other locations had Modernism, Polyasian, and Nautical. (Skate Magazine).
Based on those pictures of speeders, I was guessing between Hawaiian, Polynesian, and Nautical but Eddie said it was Hawaiian. So, I was very close to correct! I would love to know what else themes at other Starlites.
I was told by Eddie that JT Strickland was a very nice man.
The Exterior.
Based on that article Eddie send me, that is all I could see the exterior at the time. The canopy. It looked very similar to the Stardust Skating Rinks with that appearance. It was very similar in design. Was this a Stardust first before it became Starlite? Only the stars know! Haha. No, It might have been. Or copied off. Many rinks do that.
The logo for Starlite is exactly the same as you see at the Ormond Beach location. I wish I could have seen all 5 locations with different themes to see what they were like and to compare. Anyone?
