Stardust 2 Skate Center 2881 Ledo Rd, Albany, GA. At night. Wow. Love the light-up of the building. Noticed the rails? If there is a long line, they get in the line like an amusement park would have for their rides. Same concept. But this is a first for me to see out of 4000 rinks I have worked on. It is not common for a rink. This is rather unusual. But not the lines since all rinks had lines. Not even a night club had such rails like that. All movies show that. Stardust 2 Skate Center 2881 Ledo Rd, Albany, GA
Stardust 2 Skate Center 2881 Ledo Road, Albany, Georgia was a roller rink that began in 1981 but they closed permanently on 11 April 2023 because of the building landlord sold the building to an other carwash business owner who will convert it to a car wash. The owner of Stardust 2 Skate Center leased the building and lost the lease when it was sold. He had time to look for another location but did not do so. Now Albany, Georgia is without a rink. The nearest rink now is located in Moultrie which is about 50 minutes drive depending on how quick you drive or what route.

According to Re/Max, the property taxes was quite expensive in my opinion, the website said over 18,000 USD on property taxes per year. Way expensive!
From what I saw on walking score and driving score, it was not excellent spot because walking and driving both equalized at 2.5 out of 5. That is half-half so there is no perfect better way for the rink to get more business.
According to Loop Net, the building was built in 1997. How can that be if the rink was opened in 1981? Did they relocate the rink or did they had a rebuilt or renovated? I will need more information.
The building was for sale since August 2020 so Stardust 2 could have had their chance to make a purchase of that building or relocate within that 2 and half years! My opinion.
The Interior.
They had a beautiful Clear colored Polyurethane coated Hardwood Maple in Fan layout format with a large movie theater-like screen in background. They had Black Light carpet everywhere including the rails.
Beautiful Atomic Nucleus look which is really a planet with rings. This one reminded me of the Globe with rings at the New York World's Fair 1964-65 which was near Tent of Tomorrow where it became a roller rink. (check it out). If NY is going to do it again for 2029-30 World's Fair, it better look at this page and cue the concept to built a new globe WITH lights for their patrons to see. I would be honored to light it up on first night. New York! I am still waiting!

Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
