Spotlite Skating Rink 7103 US Highway 49 E, Greenwood, MS
Spotlite Skating Rink was located at 7103 US Highway 49 East, Greenwood, Mississippi. This was a hard to find location on the Google Map but no problem, I was able to have good judgement and found it was at now where a bingo hall is located.
Not much information but only thing I got was opening in 1996 but I found information related to the rink in a lawsuit. This is the case I heard about a 10 years old girl died from skating in her fall hitting her head. Likely they closed for good immediately after the accident with the little girl.
The lawsuit asked for 600,000 USD for damages filed by the girl's mother who worked overnight shifts at the Sheriff's Department. From my understanding that she was new skater and not know how to skate and there were two different story from this point. Her friends said no one helped her when she was crying. The Spotlite Skating Rink said they did have someone to help who was an employee of the rink and only about 10 feet after she went on, she fell down.
