Two logos courtesy of Spinning Wheels Sk8 Center. Top in all Royal Blue font and lines was 2010. Then the newer logo is few years later till its demise. I love the new logo best because it has nice colors, more fun like and more attractive than the original which was in fact, in any colors. This blue logo was from one of their posters. The kids in that logo looked more like from late 1970s - early 1980s look. That is because Spinning Wheels adopted the Skateland logo! See next photo and you will see it was on the sign. Google Map 2013 and 2016.
Courtesy by several patrons at the rink on Google Map. Noticed mini-rink? Possible for dancing, toddler skating, jam, or even bouncehouse.
All courtesy of Spinning Wheels Sk8 Center. Wow, beautiful floor they had done in 2012. Clear Coated Polyurethane Poured Concrete floor. Yes, they even had a spinning wheel, literally.

This 40 years long skating rink closed for good on January 31, 2021. Yes, this profile is made before the end of the month because the announcement was made on January 23, 2021 that they are closing because of two major impacts: COVID-19 lockdowns that forced this rink to close for 20 weeks during 2020 which evidently hurt the business chance to pay leasing and the owner of the building wants another business in which will make profit for the building owner to be able to pay leasing. The Spinning Wheels could not. It will become a D-store in its spot. That is a Dollar General relocating.
Before Spinning Wheels Sk8 Center, they had official name as Spinning Wheels Skating Center which was established in 2010. Before that, it was Skateland which also was called Carl Junction Skateland to separate confusion from other Skatelands in the state. Skateland began in around 1981.
My assessment is correct about the architecture of the building as I described below that the rink itself. Please read Interior section. It was a gas station at one time and a grocery store as well before it became Skateland roller skating rink. The owner in 2016 wanted to rezone to become industrial or other kinds of commercial. Donald Brewer purchased the building in 1980. This is how and why Skateland began in 1981. It was not doing well with skating rink and the owner wanted to change. It is apparently he was doing it again in 2020 forcing Spinning Wheels to go out of business. That same mentality he was thinking.
Donald requested for rezoning and the neighbors complained and the board rejected his request. This is why it became Spinning Wheels three years later. Donald Brewer was also the owner of Skateland/Carl Junction Skateland. His brother, West Brewer owned Skateland in Webb City which was a very close competition. That rink opened in August 2001.
The Interior.
The interior was rather unique especially the graphics. BBG--Bold Big Graphics. The lines usually straight horizontally but some do switch making it looks like an S in slant/italic look. For example, Yellow on bottom zig zag toward top of the stripes as other two stays same level. Like a Backward Z.
The colors were from Top town, Yellow, Blue, Red, then it keep repeating of the "rotation" of colors. The photograph will help with that.
They also had the mini rink floor. Perhaps for practices, roller ram, or to dance (without skates).
They had lockers without lockers. That is cubes to put your shoes and jackets in.
The Exterior.
It was a simple form of Industrial style storefront look building with Bricks limited to one area as the rest Steel walled. It does look like an age old small grocery store or a drug store with that size and appearance but it was a rink for about 40 years.
