Spinners Family Skate Center 280 Route 31, Macedon, NY
This rink, originally as Rollerworks, then became Spinners Family Skate Center in Macedon, NY. This Spinners may have been a franchise of the Spinners Skates in Buffalo, NY. This is closer to Rochester. It is on the East side of Rochester. It was properly located because of the go-cart track business was cross the highway and on kitty corner from a pool and spa facility. All recreational facilities were separated but in proper location next to each other so that people can go over to do something else.
Spinners did not last though. It opened in 2001 according to Manta website and The Dun & Brandstreet Corporation, a business real estate or brokers firm, I think. Anyway, the rink is no longer in operations according to Google Map. It is now a Tractor Supply Store. Nevertheless, the rink building was so modern. It just did not last. I believe there was several factors. From what I am seeing on the map, it was a bad location because it was pretty much out in the country. Perhaps it was for different reasons.
There are no photos available however, the location on Google Map is best option--for now.
There is a proof of dates of when the photos were taken by Google mapmaker. Now, that is a tractor supply store with their equipment outdoors.
UPDATE: A skate fan who went to Spinners gave me the date of open which was in 1997. Not 2001 as I previously researched. It may have been reorganized business. Some business do "redress" for taxes and grants purposes. The other thing is that he provided me link to YouTube of Spinners. It did become indoor skate park with rams, rails, and all.
UPDATE (23 April 2021)--
A former United Skates of America employee (Greece, NY) told me this. You can read his excerpt in United Skates of America, Greece, NY) then read this when after USA, Greece, NY)
At the same time a fellow named Dave Mesangelo (unsure on spelling) was laying out the rink in Macedon. He along with MaryKay Montesano (general manager), myself and a few others from USA began to plan out the rink in Macedon. Dave was a super nice guy and allowed a lot of input from us. Spinners was not Spinners at the beginning, it was Rollerworks, for years. The rink was built with the intention of having a roller rink on one side and a club on the other, however the Town of Macedon would not give the permits for a club. So for the first few years it was open, the large room on the end of the building was classic car and boat storage until they were able to get permits to make it a skate park with ramps, halfpipes, rails, etc. The DJ booth was originally in the corner, but later on was moved to the center of the back wall so they could use the booth as an office. It was Rollerworks for probably 5-8yrs before turning into Spinners. It's demise came when they had a major roof failure that warped the floor and from what I heard insurance wouldn't cover it. Miss those places and people like crazy, those nights were priceless.
Dave saying he paid a lot extra on the floor and had the boards stacked vertical instead of flat to give it more rigidity.
Interior:
They had Clear coated Polyurethane coated Maple floor with many strobe flashing lights and theater stage lights on the ceiling which really made it look more like a studio in there than a rink. They had a big sign with the name of the rink with red color flashing to make it more glitter like. The whole place was to be glitter type of feel. The video moved fast but I can catch it had Sky Blue walls, a Dark Blue stripe on the wall and the half-walls rails.
If there are photos, that would be helpful.
Exterior:
The exterior looked like a warehouse with the sign Spinners outside facing the main road. With a sign of course. It was sporting Natural Wood tones (Dark mostly) but with the current tractor supply store, it sports the store's Light Gray.
