Date-N-Skate N. Woodland Blvd and Glenwood Road, DeLand, FL. This was taken when Date-N-Skate had their first outdoors rink opened and the Chamber of Commerce welcomed the new rink on grand opening day. Tracie who send me the picture said it was her father standing behind the counter shaking hands with the mayor or the chamber of commerce president.

Those rinks were around before the current rink known as the Rink (Rink Deland). Not much information I can find but the current rink is in operational.
All I got the Speedway information in public reviewing websites. Apparently Speedway closed in 2015 and was sold to current owner(s) of The Rink and reopened in August 2015 after Speedway was sold.
It was wood floor according a customer on the public reviewing website and it was warped. However, I looked at the pictures when it was already sold to the current owners. The floor appeared to be concrete. So, it is a conflicting report.
It was Light Blue Polyurethane coated concrete floor in my opinion. The interior design for the Speedway rink at the time was very rudimentary because it featured Military Ship Grey color half-walls and a hue of a certain Blue toward light but heavy blueness. With White Ceiling. There was a graffiti style name Speedway Skating on the half-walls. It was a website. I noticed a dice painted on the upper wall by the ceiling. It was counted as 3. This was Speedway.
It also had American and Canadian flag displayed way above the graffiti website address on the half walls. It had beautiful neon colors of pink and blue lights
Today the Rink has painted their facility much darker such as painted over the Grey to Black and more neon colors on and new disco lights. Speedway originally had Starburst disco light with diamond ball pendant.
First, the family sold the building in 1977, later what I found they were up for sale and sold respectively in 31 August 2005 and the site last updated on 15 November 2005 as likely sold. Must be it was sold to the Speedway owner. What surprises me about this rink was up for sale in 8 April 2021. Must be because of the Great Virus Outbreak Lockdown of 2020-2022 caused it to be listed to be sold however, they removed it a month later. It is NOT for sale, period. The listing was removed on 10 May 2021. This was according to Zillow.
UPDATE! -- (04 February 2022)
I received an email from a family member who owned Date-N-Date which was actually first rink. Here is what she has to say --
First, Date N' Skate was an outdoor roller skating rink on the corner of Woodland Blvd. and [Glenwood Rd] in Deland in the 1960s. It was owned by my family, my parents Hart and Marge Tindal and my grandmother Hilda Isaly.
In the mid 70s my parents sold it to build the indoor skating rink, still named Date N' Skate, on 15-A that you talked about on your site. We opened that rink in 1977 and was in our family until 1995 when it was sold and renamed The Rink.
Ahhhh. Now I got it. Thank you! At first I could not find information related to Date N' Skate and that was why it was red fonted meaning no information. But now with your information, that helps more. Thank you so much, Tracie! That helps!
Funny, I could not find Bethel Church Road on the map. I think they changed the name of the road. None of that road exist on Google Map. I kept getting churches listed there. Wrong. Google, go back to school! Haha.

Date N' Skate (Indoors/Built): Colors I do not know.
Deland Skating Center: Colors I do not know.
Speedway: Colors I do not know.
The Rink (Deland): It has that South Florida Miami Vice color with Process Cyan and White Roof. It is Free-Span Steel Trusses Steel - Walled Convention Center - like Building. Those colors were also popular with the 1980s graphics called Memphis Group. The Cyan on the exterior is not quite the same as it is interior. It is a little bolder and heavier hue. That makes it feel heavier inside now than it was with Speedway and maybe Deland Skating Center's appearance in photographs with purple borders (borders came with the photo when I downloaded them). The colors presently inside will make you feel heavier and hotter even with the Floridian humidity outside.
