Photo courtesy of Google Map. This was possible Skatetown USA before it became Skate Factory. The architecture looked quite similar.
Skatetown USA, 485 27th Ave SW Vero Beach, FL
Of course there were a few Skatetown USA. This was at Vero Beach, Florida which was closed by New Year 2017. They went out of business.
They had Steel sheet warehouse style building with Off Yellow along with similar color stones by the front door for exterior. However, interior it was more.. into 1980s Green here and there including the lighted awings for snack bar, skate rental, store, etc. They had almost no half walls around the rink. But a step down to the Maple floor rink in Fan pattern.
The photos are self described of what they are like. Was it really Fort Pierce because those photos are same I see in Fort Pierce. (See Skatetown, USA page)
I see that they were losing money because their Roller Derby girl team were trying to raise money to save the rink in July 2017 but all effort failed apparently.
Upon looking up through Google, I see there is Skate Factory which is operational however, the architectural design of that rink on 485 27th Ave SW Vero Beach, FL address, I looked on Google Map, the building looked just like the former Skateland USA. Was this the same design? Likely yes. So, I am going to dig deeper as I can find out.
Also on Facebook that they showed address as Fort Pierce, NOT Vero Beach although they had a rink in Vero Beach. Anybody? Most mysterious here.
