Courtesy of Google Map. Noticed the sign? I know its hard to see. This was Skates. it just ran out of business and you can see the trailer and the truck and the dumpster.. They were getting rid of the rink and built as a spa retreat.
Courtesy of Loop Net. This was a good close up of the building as a spa retreat center. And a non-functioning water fountain. Now its a church and that water fountain is gone. Skates had a Gable shaped front and small as well because you can compare that to the spa and the current one-the Hispanic Christian church. This looks a lot better with the design than the rink was. The rink had too 1980s look in 2000s. This look more like a Taco Bell architecture.
Skates Roller Rink 978 Expressway Ln, Spanish Fork, UT
Skates Roller Rink Was founded in 2003. Apparently short lived. Because according to the map, it is now a Hispanic Pentecostal Christian Church. In between the rink and the church, it was a cupcake bakery-spa-beauty salon in that tiny 10,000 Square Feet building. Very modern though.
I could not find any further about the rink.
It apparently operated from 2003 to May 14, 2007 according to Google Map that it took in 2007 the workers transforming into a retreat center which itself also short lived from 2007 to September 24, 2012. Praise God a church can last longer, prayerfully. Third a charm?
The Interior.
N/A
The Exterior.
It is a Gable Warehouse-like building with simple frontage where the front door is. The front door is located in center wall instead of traditional front side door. Some rinks do have it in center. Common would be on side because it would help makes the rink bigger.
It is a 10,053 SF building which is quite small. Say it is 85 feet wide, it is 118 feet long building. I believe it is more like 80 feet by 126 feet long. Just educated guess by observation on the photograph. The grounds and the building looks very attractive for the former spa-bakery-salon and the current church. I measured it and it is roughtly 85 feet wide according to the map for front to back. That means 85' by 118'.
