Google Map, 2014.
Both above taken from image searches. Yes you read that correctly. They were asking skaters to slow down off the rink floor. This is why carpets are designed for. To slow you down.
Poor quality photos. I could not zoom bigger and they are not that great. Playground photo courtesy of Rink Time. Both left are of AP Images.
Photos from DDG image search. I think that bottom photo showed the rink was being renovated into a trampoline park.
Skates Alive 600 Salem Dr., Owensboro, KY
Skates Alive was once an alive rink but no more. It is now a Skates Dead or known as dead rink at 600 Salem Drive Owensboro, Kentucky. This 22,500 SF rink originally started in January 1992 and in May 2003, a church bought the property to convert likely to a church but Skate Alive continued under a new ownership. Apparently the church abandoned and sold the building and rink.
Then in August 2017, Elite Air Newburgh bought the rink and converted into the area's first trampoline park and a ninja warrior training center. That is sad they abandoned the rink. Ninja warrior training? I know how Ninjas are. They are the most elite of all martial arts and they would NEVER let anyone go out there and start a training school like Karate, KWD, Kung Fu, or any other Martial Arts would do. Not even like MMA or Boxing or Mixed genre of those fights. Ninjas only invite a very few after they feel certain people are chosen. They can not freely allowed any one who wants to join the Ninjas. No way. That is my opinion. It is like having the Navy SEALS (correctly spelled) inviting silly misfits like you saw on Police Academy. They would not do that. No way. Please go ask Jackie Chan, Steven Seagal, JCVD, Jet Li, and Chuck Norris, Jeff Wincott, Dwayne Johnson, and others and they all will tell you they agree with me.
The Interior.
Before the trampoline park, the rink was operated since 1992 and I am sure the appearance might have been exactly the same because the carpet looked so faded in 15 years when those photos taken. The carpet was Green and Purple, the popular color of early 1990s as I recalled, I even wore clothing with those colors. It was the in colors of the time.
The walls had Pasty Orange, Lime Green, and Sunburst colors as the seating had standard Orange and White tables. There are all kinds of colors that did not match at all. A mixed of different hues and moods of colors.
The Exterior.
The exterior was a very comfortable 1970s-80s feel to it. The design is very similar to many 1970s architecture including the old Wegmans markets had in late 1960s to 1990s before they went on to more European style storefront appearance. But it had a Washed White Brick with Dark Chocolate siding above instead of what Wegmans had back then which was Earth Browns bricks.
The Washed White was exactly same colors I can see similar to old 1980 Hershey's owned Friendly's Ice Cream Restaurants had before Friendly's went back to Red Bricks before they closed up many Friendly's leaving just a few rare ones left.
The Cinderblocks has a design that was rough stucco like feel to it instead of common smooth flats blocks.
