Courtesy of Google Map. Noticed fading paint? Likely it was part of the Skatepark 165 because the dealership for flat bed trailers for tractor trailer had faded paint. Hard to see because of bunch of trailers in front of the building. This was taken in July 2016. No newer photos. I tried to find out anything is there presently. Nothing so far, I declare that spot abandoned.
Skatepark 165 1613 Southern Ave, Monroe, LA
Skatepark 165 1613 Southern Ave, Monroe, Louisiana was not really a roller rink but a skate park indoors. It was housed in a Cinder-block building with steel wall Gable building. Rick Alan Howell owned and managed this rink/skate park.
It had a street course, quarter pipes, half-pipes, and a bowl. There are many boxes, rails and stairs to skate. Also full pro-shop is on site.
After this location closed, it became a tractor trailer trailer dealership selling flatbeds. That too closed before the 2013 photos on Google Map.
Please note this is the OLD location of Skatepark 165. I believe they are connected or related to Skatetown 165 on 3151 Sterlington Rd, Monroe, Louisiana.
The name with the number stands for the skate park they had and the 165 is named after the highway there.
The Interior.
It had a street course, quarter pipes, half-pipes, and a bowl. There are many boxes, rails and stairs to skate. Also full pro-shop is on site.
The Exterior.
It was in a Free-Span Steel Truss Cinder-blocks walled Warehouse - like Building with steel sheet Gable roof. It was very basic rough looking building during 2010s that one time a truck trailer dealership that apparently folded.
The photo showed it had Blue and White. The paint is pealing so looked aged 10 to 15 years in the 2016 photo shown above. The 2013 photo on Google Map looked exactly the same fading.
