Westview Skateland 461 Commerce Sq. W., Columbus, OH. Top view in 1965 after they just built the new rink on a new road. Google pointed to the wrong place. they pointed to a factory or something but this is correct location of the former rink. Sorry for blurring. Source: USGS.
Westview Skateland 461 Commerce Sq. W., Columbus, OH. Sticker likely 1960s because of the seven-digit numbers. It was already starting to have 7 digit number system for telephone in 1960 according to Wikipedia. The rink opened in 1965. Source: Pinterest.
Skateland 461 Commerce Square, Columbus, OH. Taken in 2011. This is the place because of the angle where the photo of the rink in the advertisement. It is clearly shown from this angle. The evidence of this place is the roof and the canopy walls you can see are a match. Compare them please. Source: Google.

Skateland 461 Commerce Square, Columbus, OH was an interesting rink in a spot away from main roads. George Senft was the manager of the rink. No owner's name is found on the ad. However, I could not find anymore pictues of this rink.
I do not have dates of open or closing. Anybody? Anything about this place?
It is the same as the Westview Skateland.
It was built in 1965. Likely that was when the rink was first opened.
But I have no information when it was closed and who owned it.
The building was sold on 30 November 2006. But I am not sure if that was the rink closing. May have before that because of the age of the building and the popularity of skating curve cycle.
The Interior.
It was a modern looking interior with Terrazzo roller rink floor. It had Iron or metal Half-Rails in Stadium shape rink.
The Exterior.
It was a very modern Mid-Century Architecture. Although they are close to Googie, but it is Mid-Century. Hard to see that black-and-white photo, it does appear to have Gabled roof with Butterfly roof for the drive-thru canopy. The sign is quite Mid-Century. Very modern.
Free-Span Steel Trusses Bricks - Walled Venue - like Building with Gable roof. It sits on a curved road that was just paved under 2 years. First business on that curved road on the outside of the curve. The canopy now is LoBoom's. Something else was there after the rink and had a canopy as well. It was arched. Now Gable style. Red Bricks. Very 1960s style bricks. They updated with new HVAC up front and new sheet metal venting from the equipment to the interior. I wish they put that in the rear, not the front facing the road. Bad location.
The walking ability is 2.1 out of 5 which is so-so. But for driving, it is an improvement at 3.8 out of 5. It was not too bad with driving. If they were an improvement, the rink perhaps would have survived better. Maybe. But not a reliable answer.
