Skateland 1230 South 2nd Street, Cherokee, IA
There were and are many Skateland nationally but also many in Iowa. This being in Cherokee, Iowa. Not a whole lot of info though. It was established in 1995 and I have no date of closure. It had Facebook page but all empty and no photographs, nothing on there but a blank profile page. Only two business sources websites did listed the rink though with the date of registered and opened. The obituaries for the operator showed when he sold the business which is now a repair shop.
Robert Van Natta opened the rink when he retired from being owner and likely a mechanic at his auto shop in 1991 then he opened up the rink in 1995 only to sell it in 2008. Robert passed away in 2014. Robert, thank you for defending the Constitution of the United States and for our Faith in the LORD Jesus Christ. And not just the military I am talking about. I am also talking about Boy Scouts.
Unfortunately there are no photos available. Anyone has them? I like to know! And can post here!
