Skateland of Brandon 750 West Robertson Street, Brandon, FL. This was how Skateland used to be. And nice big canopy! I like that. And it did have a ramp which is excellent for Americans with Disabilities. Source: Astro Skate of Brandon.

This was a rink before it was sold to Astro Skate Center. So, this qualify that the rink defunct prior it was sold. Any rinks with old names with previous owners will get listed on this site. But will not listed new rink owners with name changes to the rink IF it is still operational. When it does closed for good, then that is when it will then be listed under that new name. The address is correct although the rink was at the same location, the 750 West Robertson Street although the map showed how business addresses are quite skewered.
OK, back to this rink. It was opened in April 11, 1977 when Roller Disco was at peak by Gary and Geraldean Gant. They operated the rink till they sold it on February 9, 1984 to Skateland of Brandon, Inc under John Pate. He ran the rink as Skateland of Brandon. The exterior look of both rinks are unknown but I am showing as Astro Skate. Currently a brightly pink building that reminded you of someone's house all pink.
The rink interior was clearly with Maple wood, clear coated, epoxy coated. Look good size rink. It had Aquatic Blue colors on the walls with dark support posts. The rink had no railing. It was open space rink with neon colored carpeting.
Needs photos of original rink! The second generation of the rink and owner had kept it so long till October 3, 2017 when Astro Skate purchased the rink from the Gants. The rink was in total remodel and even had new skates provided.
The Skateland of Brandon exterior is nice with two tones of Cold Greys. It appeared better than Astro's choice of colors.
The choice of color for exterior for Astro should have been different because, in my opinion, it is bit distracting and feminine. It has nothing to do with Astro, which is usually associate with space, universal, rocketry, and planets, etc. Should have picked space colors and mural of an universe with stars, etc. The Grey colors of Skateland of Brandon did all that work done since they got it right with that color for space! (This website is much more of commentary! Remember that!)
The interior presently appeared to be nice in a redone by Astro.
They even have a YouTube of just about 3 seconds and it is not worth to post it on here. Besides that, they violated Americans with Disabilities Act by NOT captioning the video!
