Courtesy of Skateland. I believe this was a T-shirt.
Google Map. Taken in 2013.
This photo was taken strangely. It is all blurred in this digital I believe. But can't be. You noticed something on the wall? Yes, a black creature. Is that a dog or a cattle? If that was a dog.. that would be a Cryptid called a Black Dog or a Black Shuck. Or a Chupacabra (Cryptozoology is another hobby of mine).
Five photos courtesy of Weichert. Did you noticed the furnace? Yeah! And the truss bearing beam support runs from one end to the other. Of course, columns are used.
Skateland Facebook. Ah, even the rainbow did not help them be financially strong. You noticed the rainbow appeared real close because that hill is not far at all. Just beyond that tree behind the other similar building in background. Yes, that close! Oh well, everyone missed catching the pot of gold! Hahaha. Coincidently, I made this profile on March 16, 2021, a day shy of St. Patrick's Day (a Catholic church celebration).
Skateland 4775 US 60 W, Morehead, KY
This rink was closed for good in 2018 however, it first opened in 2010 according to Manta and Dun & Bradstreet. It was located at 4775 US Highway 60 West, Morehead, Kentucky.
Likely closed on January 2, 2018 according to their Facebook page. They updated their profile clearly mean they were permanently closed as it is shown on Facebook.
It appeared it was on the market for at least two years. From 2017 to 2019.
The Interior.
One of the oddest rink I ever seen. Yes, the HVAC--the furnace was right in the middle of the rink floor by the post. There are three posts. Terrible design for that. The ceiling made it more interesting though. It was outdoors White sheet metal walls for the ceiling! Yes, it has disco ball and lights. I could not use any photos because the owner/manager/operator too too many photos of people skating and partying. Maybe bit too obsessive by that person. No kidding.
It has Navy Ship Gray painted Concrete floor with White walls, Blue trims. And again, that furnace in the middle of the floor! It is in the closet though with the door there. Light Blue floor for eating area that are parallel to the rink rail walls.
The front doors has glass and the windows too by the front door and the eating area at the rink. They have more eating area on the side.
But I seen several photos the groups celebrating birthdays, they have pizza boxes there. Clearly they order from outside, nothing from the rink itself. One of most liberal open minded rink because you can bring food and drinks in.
It is rather small interior.
They had a lot of ceiling fans.
The back wall says, "Lets Good Time Roll" in simple art work, not professionally done.
But still, that furnace! Oh man. Check it out in Facebook and roll down till you found some. And yes, above too.
The Exterior.
Based on one photo, I can see it is Gable roofed Wood Truss wood-Walled Storefront - like Building. It even has a garage door. it is wood wainscot walls painted in White with Chocolate Brown Truss section of the wall on each side. The parking lot was just dirt. It was very basic design.
Yes, I can see the furnace chimney goes up in the middle of the Gable roof.
