Skateland, 6056 Stewart St, Milton, FL
Skateland had a very common thing: its name. Skateland was very popular name in many places that even a Yellow Pages website got it wrong. It has a website for Skateland of another state that is still in operation but that is the problem. The other state's rink's website is still listed part of Skateland of Milton, FL page.
Anyway, Not much about the rink itself. It did close and went out of business but then it was sold to another owner who reopened as Weber's Skateworld. It is entirely different business and not the same. Therefore, Skateland of Milton is correct to be listed in this dead rink "hall of fame" or an e-museum here at Dead-Rinks!
The building is gabled warehouse look which was common from Disco Era to modern. The building, we do not know what it looked like. However, the rink may have been closed and sold between 2017 and Weber's grand opening on May 18, 2018. Likely it was end of 2017. Need information regarding to the opening and closing of Skateland of Milton. Clearly the old rink was outdated for sure and this new owner had it completely redone except I can see the floor. Maple floor looked like it needs to be sanded and polished then epoxy, oiled and polish according to Skateland of Milton's Facebook pictures. I only could see on Google Map of Weber's Skateworld with Dark Royal Blue with bunch of lightnings and graffiti appearing for the name for the current rink. Having Graffiti to me in my opinion is a no-no because it encourages kids to do those illegal "art" which does not have recognized in art community. Maybe to some who believe it is but not to me.
Apparently we know that it had curved Maple wood floor rink. Stained but worn.
Needs photos of the old rink plus more specific information regarding to opening and closing. Only I have seen are from Santa Rosa's Press Gazette website. The building interior under Skateland which those photos are taken in 2016, it had an Aquatic feel because of the walls. White on top part of the walls, Swimming Pool Blue, and Deep Blue on bottom third of the walls and posts. Posts too had same colors. It was a martial arts black belt ceremony held there because of its size. They may even had classes there. Not sure. But the size was proper for the martial art class there because of large number of martial art students and parents and families watching them. Congrats to those future Jackie Chans on earning their belts at the rink as seen on the Sana Rosa's Press Gazette.
Weber's made the place darker with much black and had stars, and graffiti look inside.
