Skateland 17 was in Brunswick, GA before it became Fun Town Roller Rink which is operational today. It began in 1967. It ran a long time for more than 50 years of that rink. But as for Skateland 17, it ran until 2013 when the owners of Fun Time Roller Rink began after they purchased from the old rink owners.
The Interior.
Currently it shows Blue and Light Green strip on walls and rails. Reminds me of another rink. Originally it was Black and Orange color as seen on the rail where blue paint pealing off. The floor-- I mean the entire place and the rink itself has poured Concrete with Dark Gray color and it is showing pealing at the moment. It needs to be redone for sure. So is the interior that the colors are pealing off.
It has exposed trusses and ceiling.
What really interests you and I is that they have real 4 way traffic light signal hanging on the rink! They perhaps used that as a disco light. Very creative and functional. They have a theme in the rink that it even has dark floor just like it would be paved outside and from entrance to center of this area has lines that looked just like a road. The lines. You will see that. They are innovating the concept of drawing in outdoor skaters inside that rink to skate.
