Courtesy of Google Map. Top two were taken in 2013 as the bottom in 2019. It gives more sober feeling in that 2019 photo. Darker, drearier, more letters are missing, and rustier than the 2013 showed. It sits empty for about 10 years or more. From Skateland to kateland to atel nd presently. The 2008 photo on Google Map for the side road, the 100 Beaver Street has extremely blurred and dark due to clouds and poor cameras. The whole name was there. But no cars. All empty ever since. Myteriously why would they have it empty for this long and no one bought it? I never seen a for sale sign on the building and none of the websites for real estate has information. Anyone know why this sits empty?
Skateland 3296 Warrior River Rd, Bessemer, AL
Skateland 3296 Warrior River Rd, Bessemer, Alabama was a rink from 1973 to its demise in recent times. It was set up behind a small plaza next to another plaza.
It has a canopy extension front.
Jerome W Upton opened the rink in 1973 and it closed sometimes late 2000s. I could not find any confirmation of date of closure.
Not much of information to gather here. Just establishment. I have nothing on for sale either. Apparently the place is still empty as you read this (July 21, 2020).
Anyone know why this closed, what happened? Why sitting empty for years? Pictures?
