Both courtesy of Google Map. Top was in 2011 (2008 is so blurred and not good to show on here) and it was beautiful design. The bottom was taken in 2016 when the medical company opened the plant that year to grow some medical plants. Boring design because they ruined it by paint over! When the rink was operational, they had that Aztec-Mayan style.
Loop Net. I do not know what this part was. Pretty empty with Lime color wall and Poyaisian roof trim on the wall. Anyone know about this?
Courtesy of Pahrump Valley Times. The community had a garage sale to raise money for their local Meals on Wheels.
Skate Zone 1261 East Calvada Blvd, Pahrump, NV
Skate Zone at 1261 East Calvada Boulevard, Pahrump, Nevada had an awesome location. It was one of the largest building on that block next to a furniture store. Not only awesome location, awesome appearance.
It's beginning was in 2004 but apparently did not last long. Google Map showed in 2008 which is very blurred with the name on the wall above the front doors.
Skate Zone must have folded before 2008 because in 2014, they had a huge fund raiser event in the former rink by the community an indoor garage sale for seniors' needs in that community. Nice of the furniture store owner next door to donate furniture and loan out the truck for anyone needs to borrow for delivery to their homes. Apparently that furniture store
Unfortunately for you if you wanted to give support, the furniture store owner retired in 2016 and sold the building to the new owner of the property where Skate Zone was. The ACC Industries bought it to expand their ever growing company. So, its all moot for you but you can always support your LOCAL charity. Churches, food banks, seniors' groups, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, and more. Search for your local charity for donations.
Skate Zone ran from 2004 to between 2008 and 2011. Not very long. After that, it was something else there very briefly including that garage sale happening to raise money for seniors' need in their community. But in 2014, the drug company purchased it to grow medical plants indoors there (not able to survive the hot dry desert of American West). They later purchased in 2016 next door the furniture store to expand to meet their ever growing pubic demand for medical needs. They should also have bought the old Sears store next door too!
The Interior.
I am not sure if they had Christian inspirations on the wall during the days of Skate Zone but the only photograph I found has those words on the wall while they were having that special garage sale fundraiser. If it was, then it was a Christian based roller rink unless it was a church after the rink closed but before this pharmaceutical company purchased it for their indoor plant growing and processing center.
It appeared to have White walls and Black ceiling. I am not sure about the floor either it was wood with white paint or poured concrete floor with white paint. They both do look alike and hard to tell through photographs. In person you can tell the difference.
The Exterior.
It was a beautiful detailed architecture for this building. According to the 2011 photograph it gave very detailed architecturally as it was an art form on the building. Much of the line details and shapes on the pillars in front while the rest were plain and modern. It was a mixture of periods. The past meet the future. A 2008 photograph which was so blurred but I could make out very little the sign above the door says Skate Zone on it. The 2011 has no name anymore. Apparently they closed between 2008 and 2011. One of the most beautiful architecture details I ever seen for a roller rink. It is a classic look in modern interpretation.
