Both logos courtesy of Skate Station/Ted, the owner. Beautiful, clean, Conservative sign. No wild and crazy logo. I love this logo. Too basic fonts that everyone now uses. That is the negative though the positive is it is not 1990s style graffiti look. Very 2010s look though. Good effort!
3D sketches courtesy and done by Ted, the owner. Nice job doing drafting! It is to show what the park would look like before the actual drafting with measurement. This is all by hand using #2 lead pencil and 3D grid paper. If I was his teacher, I would give him an A.
Facebook post by Ted / Skate Station. Final announcement. Out of business.
Skate Station 2291 S School Ave, Fayetteville, AR
Skate Station was located at 2291 S School Ave in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It was more of a BMX and Skateboard skate park rather than a skating rink but remember, they are cousins to skating rinks. Roller skaters do skate at such place. Well, this one was closed according to the owner whom I asked and it is sad about this place that it was closed because of a major break-in and his merchandise at the pro-shop were stolen left and right wide.
This disappointed many skaters, boarders, and bikers not be able to have fun there anymore. But I felt the owner did not have to close it just because of a break-in. They are replaceable with insurance covered. If no insurance, well, that is tough. The owner, Ted, closed it for good at end of June 2015 thanks to the break in, damages, and merchandise stolen.
It is common with break-in for anybody may experience. More so with bank robberies and jewelry store robberies. There are many kinds of robberies. For this one, it is all about skates, boards, and more. Ridiculous! Usually rinks and parks of any kinds would have a pro-shop. I recommend you have microchip tags hidden in the boots, shoes, boxes, skateboards, scooters, bicycles, and anything that rolls as well as protection kits, clothing, uniforms, hats, anything. This way you can have it tracked when it is stolen and those jerks are busted when you get it. And anyone who bought them in black market will be arrested for accessory to the fact. Please consult your attorney for protection and safety as well as contact your local law enforcement office for details. Install alarms, chipped tags, cameras, and more. Also get measurement tape on the door frame too so you can have camera capture their heights. Walmart does this by taking picture of everyone arriving and leaving. This is how they captured many would be robbers come in and thieves leaving. As well as a certain kidnapper with a teenage girl in late 2010s.
You get the idea why its important to have cameras, alarms, tags, things like that nature you want to have good security.
It was quite new this place and then suddenly it closes.
Originally, the Skate Station was created in 1991 by Neal Crawford. Likely the location was different. I will see if I can find the original location and it should be added here.
The Interior.
It was a skatepark and just new with many different actiivties for boarders and bikers and even skaters to do their stunts. The floor was Concrete as ramps, half-barrel, etc were all wood.
The Exterior.
It was in a very modern building that looks like it is part of a 2 building-business park. Looks so new and modern. It did not look like a rink or a park but rather looked more like a business with warehouse or small factory. I have seen many business developments look like this way.
A few rinks were or are in such business development like this. A couple of them in Georgia, I think one in Florida and among others cross the country set up like this.
The Stats:
Rink Size: N/A. Floor: Concrete and Wood. Floor Layout: Skate park, one included half-barrel among others (See 3D CAD rendering above).
Building Size: 22,202 SF. Built: N/A. Demolished: Still standing..
Type of Building: Free-Span Steel Truss Cinderblock and stucco-Walled and Steel-walled Warehouse - like Building.
Roof: Gable.
Acres: N/A.
Operated: 1991 to N/A; c. 2014 to June 30, 2015.
Reason for Closure: Break-in, stolen skates, boards, merchandise which forced to close for good.
Wanted: Information regarding date of first open for each time and closed date for first round. Size of skate floor
